I know that the 2 screws that holds the license plate on the bracket are metric. But where to get more????? The local auto part store(s)... dont have anything that small. Even check with with Lowes and Home Depot... Nope.
Yea, I have both the JCW versions in black on one MINI and Chrome on the other. Comes with a little green background on the bottom sticker, pretty cool.
For the license plate, if you can find the proper size I'd recommend going with a hex head screw. These are the type I run on mine to help prevent someone from stealing it. I've had a friend have their plate stolen because it had normal Philips head screws, which is an easy tool to have on hand, but a hex head might give you a little more preventative measures. Just my personal opinion of course.

I also went to ACE hardware and brought spanner screws along with a spanner driver. This is a good safety measure to deter thieves from copin' your plates.
Ace hardware always has aterrific selection of stainless steel bits and pieces. you might find some very interesting items at a store that carries MARINE hardware.
My son bought a set of stainless steel licence plate screws from Wally World last year. Had a bunch of different thread types and had the security star heads on them, like Thule Rack security star with a nub in the middle that requires a dedicated tool for removal. He didn't use the BMW/Mini thread screws, so he gave me those.
You have to make sure you don't lose the "special" star tool so you can remove the plates when needed. I usually take the licence plates off once a year to clean out whatever gunk gets back behind them. Nice to have stainless to keep the rust away, too.
I took my original screws to lowes and used their thread sizing tools in the fastener isle to get some high quality 304 stainless steel hex head screws. Under $4.00 for all the screws. If I had only stayed away from the tool isle I would have been out of there under $100
