Thanks everyone! I've been wanting a MINI for a long time but it was never practical for me until now. I needed a 4door (dogs/kids) and liked the Countryman but felt it too big for a MINI but not big enough for my everyday needs as my only driver. My 4Runner is now over 100k miles and getting a bit cumbersome to drive everyday especially in good weather days when I drive at least 60 miles a day. I realized I really missed driving a little manual car (had a jetta) and that I could still keep my 4Runner (it's paid off) for the bigger car needs and get a little summer driver! The F55 came out and I was all over it. Kismet if you will. I had test driven a few but was dead set on a manual transmission and was shocked to hear that the dealer in Reno had very limited stock in a manual. Then I test drove the 2door with the JCW pro tuning kit and it was literally the best time I've had driving in a car ever. I had planned to custom order my F55 in the spring but then in walks the Carbon Edition (it's basically what I would have ordered). Unfortunately, my local dealer and every other dealer west of Colorado only had it in the automatic... except San Diego. So I bought it sight unseen and had it shipped to Reno. It just arrived last night and I couldn't be happier!

There are a few little things I want to do right off the bat like tinting the windows and most importantly blacking out the chrome beltline, handles, gas cap, and grille surround. I know I can order black handle covers and gas caps but don't think I'd be able to do the grille and beltline on my own. Any cons to the handle covers? Does anyone know of a place near Reno I could have those pieces wrapped? Also, if I wanted to upgrade to the JCW brakes, would I have any issues with the spacing since the wheels are already JCW options? Thanks for all your help and I can't wait to learn more!

I am glad you went with the carbon edition. No too many around. Nice F55 to start out with option wise.

Reno for the wrapped : http://graficsunlimited.com/

They did make wheels factory just for the JCW brakes also , just one wheel type.

Other wise you will need spacers. https://www.ecstuning.com/Mini-2015-...heels/Spacers/

Thanks

Thanks ECS. I think I read only 150 being sold in the US and of those I don't think many manuals. How did you settle on Grafics Unlimited? Are they on a preferred list somewhere for Mini mods? Just asking for possible future researching.
