The wheels can be painted. The wheel rivets pop out for painting

WANT!Any pics of the 17x8 +35s? How much do the 17x8s weigh?
This is probably the most aggressive size MINI guys can run (with 235/40s) without stretching sidewalls ... My plan is to pair these with a set of Toyo R1Rs for next summer.
All the specs are listed on the site at www.esmwheels.com . If you would like to use a bigger tire size the higher et is the best option for you

Got my order in
Just ordered a set, 17x8 et35. I will post pictures for you when they come. I am thinking from other posts that 215/40/17 will work good. Anyone have tire experience in this area with this size and offset? Thanks.
No rubbing at all so far, but the car is not lowered yet. The install guy was surprised at how much lighter this wheel/tire combo is than the stock ones. Those stock wheels are HEAVY.
There is a guy on here by the name of Rally@StanceDesign who knows lowering mini's and wheel/tire fitment like no other. I read tons of his posts on here and over at motoring underground to find my fitment. He could tell you if those tires would fit. I think they would be difficult as there is not a ton of space on the inside of the wheel when you go wider, they hit on the inside. I'll try to get some better pictures up today of the car and wheels.

That really does set off the look of the car nicely. Pure class.
If I recall, S-Lites are in the neighborhood of 28 lbs per wheel. They look good (they belong on a very short list of factory wheels which [I think] truly belong on a car), but they're too narrow and too heavy.

Thanks and have a great day,
You should go to 215's if you are buying new tires anyway. I have not had any rubbing at all with mine and 215's are wider than stock 205's. Handling is better with the wide tires.

I may paint the centers a different color as well.
