As someone who has been around MINIs since 2001, had them in the family since 2002 and owned 4 of them (8 between the family), I can say that the obsession lasts quite a long time

Hooked in the beginning since 2002, had to wait to 2004 to get one.

You waited a whole 2 years?!

I drove my first Mini (actually an MG 1300) as a first car (not mine, my parents "extra" car) when I first had my driving permit in '66-'67. Then drove a Mini Cooper in England in '79 for a month. Then a friend bought a Mini in 2003. Drove that one a few times and loved it. Another good friend bought an MCS in 2006. Loved that one, too. I've been test driving and looking since. Finally bought a Mini a month and a half ago.

That's a wait.
