New Owner 2006 MCS!!

Hi Everyone,

My name is Jeff from WI. I am the proud new owner of a 2006 MCS. I have had the car for less than 12 hours now and already love the MC community. I passed another Mini and the lady waved to me right away which I thought was really cool. I have been reading posts on this site for a while now and I am excited to be able to get involved in this community.

Welcome to NAM! IMO, the R53 is the BEST "new" MINI ever built, especially the 2006, the last of the supercharged models.

You got yourself a good one, near bullet proof if you are attentive. Some hints; check the fluid levels regularly, oil change and tire rotation abt. every 5K, take the roads less traveled. Like many die hards, don't allow foody stuff in the cabin (think movie theater carpet). Also, here are a few links you will find handy.

Thanks for link Fly'n Brick. Windy roads are exactly what I bought this car for and I know of some good ones in my area! So first problem that I am having with this car that I purchased on Wed. Driver side door all of a sudden wont open at all from inside or out. I stopped at the gas station and when I went to shut it, it didn't close when I shut it. So I shut it again a little harder and it closed this time. Now when I get home I am unable to open the car door at all. Won't budge an inch. I had to climb out the window and do the hold the key in the lock position to get the window closed. Any one have any expertice on this??

Never mind all, crisis averterd! Door handle on the outside was stuck partially pressed so it wouldn't let me open from the inside or outside until I wiggled the outside handle a bit and it reset to the unpressed position. Glad that was a cheap fix!!!!

New problem, I may or may not have gotten to close to a low lip thing that was buried in the ground when trying to turn around. There is no real damage but I pressed in the bumber or air diverter at the bottom of the bumber, what ever it is exactly. What I am wondering is if there is an easy way to get to it to push it back out without having to take off the bumber. I looked underneath the car and it looks to be completely sealed there. Any help would be appreciated. If there is any DIY that will tell me how to get the bumber off with pictures that would be great too if that is the route I need to go. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Thanks for the awesome video. I feel as if I can just get some of the screws off the bottem and flex my hand in there to push out the plastic. Probably give it a try today or tomorrow. Thanks again for the quick response.

Wish I could remember the name of the original poster who said it. Anyway, this is what he said: "Without pictures, it didn't happen."
