So i have been lurking on this site for a while now, even before i traded my 370z for a mini cooper s(yes i know i went backwards, i have no regrets though, the mini is more cost effective and i love it)

Ok so i just bought my 2011 R56 mini cooper s yesterday(literally) and im loving it, its like a little man sized gokart. I dont plan on doing much with the mini, just bolt ons, forged diverter valve, and a JB+ piggyback(probably gonna leave it on stock 50% setting), I might do some suspension work depending on if i feel there is something that can be improved on it but as of right now im happy

This isnt my first turbo car, I use to own a 2G DSM eclipse, with an exhaust, cone filter, and a boost controller running 16-18psi(depends on how cold it was outside) it made 230whp, 250wtq off the stock T25 and then i had my nismo 370z, full bolt ons, stock tune, and a JWT flywheel and clutch, i put down 327whp and 280wtq on a dynojet, stock i did 300whp 266wtq

my question is are there any OBD2 multi gauges that anyone recommends?
BMW really left out a lot on this car so im wondering if there is something that can display boost, RPM, speed, water temps, oil temps, IATs, ect.?

Welcome! I wouldn't necessarily say it's a step backwards, you get 2 more seats and just as much fun. You can get a bluetooth dongle and use the torque app on your phone to get all the gauges.

you make a valid point there lol I have been having a lot of fun driving the mini around town, probably more so then i did the 370z
thats what i ended up using as well, i used that combo in my 370z and so far its been a viable option for the mini as well although i dont see vacuum through the sensor(i read its cause of valvetronics which is like VVEL for the 370z but the 370z closes the throttle bodies and uses a bleed valve in the throttle body to maintain idle), i just wish i could view oil temps but thats nothing an aftermarket gauge cant fix

Welcome!!! I love my (ordered from the factory) 2011 S! Trust me, you can improve the suspension. I had a '91 Eagle Talon AWD Turbo and the Mini much more fun.

I have analog H2O temp, oil temp, and oil pressure gauges just waiting to be installed. I like analog gauges.

oh that is spot on for sure, the DSM is fun but it isnt as much fun as the mini

any recommendations on suspension? after driving the car for a couple days now i think the mini needs at least bigger sway bars and stickier tires(definitely needs new wheels, the stock 16s are atrocious)

also i made an intake for the mini(90 degree bend with a K&N Pod filter on) today

You can get all of those on OBD2, except oil temp (or pressure).

Welcome to the MINI Community!

We (CravenSpeed) have a pretty good OBDII gauge solution that you might be interested in; nGauge.

Hi luigi, congrats on your purchase. Prior to purchasing a mini gp I test drove a heap of cars ranging from a merc A45, bmw m135, honda integra type r, Renault 265 red bull to a new nissan 370z. There where a few others I also drove, but in relation to the 370z I have to say I just don't get. If I had to some it up in one word it would be 'uneventful'. One thing I found extremely annoying was the noise in the cabin. Love the look of it though. So now that your used to your mini how do you feel about the 370z?
