I'm so confused... the MINI owner's lounge tracker states my convertible S is "en route"... yet when I plug her vin into the WW tracker (she'll be going to the Georgia VDC), I get nothing.
I'm hoping she's on the Don Juan and will be heading into Georgia early next week???

Are you possibly on a K-Line ship? They lack tracking capability.

Your MA should be able to tell you. Where did you buy yours at? I bought mine in Memphis. If you did also, the MA Brett there is great.

Thank you I will need that!
I keep thinking about my Mini every minute - Is that a normal symptom? haha

You don't even know the full effect -- that's just an initial symptom.

Just wait till your baby gets close to ending up on a boat...

I was curious so I google mapped a satellite view of the Baltimore MINI VDC.
I found the building where they give your MINI it's burn-out lesson.
I could not copy the picture but have included the coordinates for the location.
39.244268,-76.578946
Copy and paste them in google maps and satellite view.
Or
Enter the coordinates
Zoom in and note 3 bays and lots of tire rubber laid down.
I always wondered how they removed the little rubber nubbies from the front tires.

I am checking for the Brunswick burn-out area next.

My MA said the VDC installation charge is cheaper than the dealership, and they do an excellent job. I was a bit confused by that as well, but apparently it's pretty common. MINI should mention that on the build pages though. I guess I can say they are factory all the way I'm having custom stripes, tinting, and maybe paint protection put on in Memphis before driving it home to Missouri. I can't wait!
Save yourself a few $ hundred and skip the paint protection/sealant or fabric protection packages if offered by your dealer. It's one of the biggest scams (and largest profit margins for any dealer) out there, and you won't find a single outside organization that will validate that it offers any more protection than ordinary car wax.

Modern paints (as on your MINI) are much improved over the old lacquers and enamels of the past, and if you take reasonable care of your MINI's finish (wax it twice a year, wash it weekly) it will still look fine in 10 years.

No after market anything for me. I wouldn't be surprised if I put less than 5k miles per year on my Roadster.

Burn outs? I never heard of this procedure before. Learn something new every day, I guess.

Don Juan underway again

Just left Halifax headed to NYC - one step closer for those of us with cars on that boat! Still hoping against hope we can take delivery this Saturday, or else it'll be a whole 'nother week - dealer's too far for the weekdays. Don't want my wife's new toy out in the elements for that long!

QuietHarper,

The Torino has been "out of range" all day. Making wide turns towards Baltimore, I guess.

I can sympathize. I'm also waiting on mine and the days are passing so slow. I want others who have been waiting longer to 'get theirs' so mine won't be so far off!!

Grats on the new ride.

Nope, tried multiple computers and I can see pics of another car when I mistype the vin. *shrug*

I kept checking during the day waiting for it to get back underway. I hope I can get it by Saturday also. I will check with my MA after it docks in NY.

Managed to get this screen shot of the Don Juan leaving the harbor.

I can't wait to be tracking the ship. Mine's not getting delivered till Nov/Dec. Any tips on how to induce a coma?

Congrats. Best advice is just forget you did that for at least a month!
Oops, too late, it only took you a week to find this thread.....

Might not be on a WW ship. Mine is on the Michigan Highway which is K-Line. Your salesman should be able to tell you what ship it's on.

BTW. K-line has no VIN lookup. You just have to trust your salesguy that it's really on there.

There are a few other carriers used but looks like WW and Kline are the most common.
