John Bull would certainly enjoy your MINI's company on board the Independence II, Michigan Highway, or Torino. If he gets on the Tonsberg first, however, he's not waiting! With my luck, you'll dock in Baltimore before I get a ship...
If we end up on the same ship, I'm sure the party stories will be epic. But I shan't hold it against the John Bull if he manages to catch the earlier boat.
Not sure who is more excited, me or my 8 year old. She keeps asking when it's going to get here and even has picked out some badges from gobadges she thinks I should get.
Training your 8 year-old to like the MINI brand already. Good idea, but I hope your gobadges.com badges aren't too wild!

Thanks, QH. The wait is interminable, isn't it? I never pictured myself checking shipping schedules, examining Atlantic Ocean weather reports, etc.
Talked to my MA today first time in 6 weeks he confirmed arrival in NYC on 9/25 and wants me to close deal on 9/30. Unfortunately I will be traveling so told him will have to be the 28th or week of 10/7. He begged me to come in as late as I could on the 30th guess dealer wants to close this out by end of September.
I asked him to push hard for the 28th or he would have to count it as an October sale.
Month-end performance bonuses on the line perhaps. You've had to wait a long time; he can accommodate you now.
Ok, it seems the second baby just doesn't get as much attention, photographs, excitement over the progress, etc, as the first baby did. <sigh> I know- I'm a bad mother!
But I did finally check back in after WEEKS of waiting on production to find my baby is now awaiting transport!
I've totally forgotten how to check on the ships- guess I'm going to go review the stickies!
Welcome to the party! I'm not sure what type MINI you have, but I'm assuming it's an English-made vehicle in Oxford. If so, maybe you'll join a few of us on board ship.

While I would love to pick up before end of September I don't want to rush through the process because the dealer wants a September sale on the books. I have waited this long I want to maximize the experience. This is the first vehicle I have custom ordered and I tend to keep my vehicles for 10 years. This is all about ME selfishly
Car was located at the port on September 4th, waiting for a dealership to claim it. Since that dealership didn't want any 14 Pacemans on the lot while they still had lots of 13 stock, they let my dealer take it. It has been ready for pickup since September 9th, but busy schedules have prevented pickup until today. No problem with the patience meter...I have two other MINIs and one Mini in the stable.

You are a true MINIac, veggivet! Nice-looking cars.

Can't disagree with you, SC. It's your MONEY and your MINI.
Thanks, TampaDave! Obsessed is another term I hear frequently!
My Roadster finished production Friday morning - it's now Wednesday morning and my MINI still sits on the Southampton docks. At this rate, your MINI may arrive on the same ship or sooner. I'm thinking of getting a rowboat with a large platform raft so I can tow it to Baltimore myself.
The good ship Integrity is getting closer to the Port of Baltimore for a Friday arrival. I attached the image its latest location.
Am I doing something wrong or is the Tamesis just not reporting it's location like normal? I haven't been able to track it's location since September 11.

Web tracking of any ship is only available when they are within 100 miles or so of the coast. If your tracking doesn't update for a while, that's because your ship is in mid-ocean (and that's usually a good thing!).

I feel you!! Mine (Toronto) hasn't been seen since the 12th. Arggggg
Six days after production and I don't have a friggin ship. Count yourselves lucky, my friends. My Roadster's becoming a permanent fixture on the Southampton docks.

At least yours is at the dock. I think mine just got on the train 5 days after production. *sigh*
Maybe yours can stow away without anyone noticing.

QH, I feel your pain. Mine sat 3 days at Oxford plus 3 more days at Southampton and I'm still not assigned a specific ship. Thank God, I was able to extend my Fiat 500 rental agreement until October 9th. That means I have to make one of the following WW ships:
I missed the Tonsberg yesterday and didn't make the Independence II today. That leaves the Torino or the Taiko, arriving in Baltimore October 3rd and October 6th, respectively. You might be assigned to either boat, QH.
SOUTHAMPTON 20/09 BALTIMORE 03/10 TORINO
SOUTHAMPTON 26/09 BALTIMORE 06/10 TAIKO
Assuming a minimum two day VDC turnaround, my earliest pickup dates are October 5th or 8th. I leave for a two week Florida vacation on October 12th, so my earliest pickup slips to October 28th. Just in time for the gales of November. Thanks, MINI. The Sales Manager issued an ETA of September 26th and my MA has constantly reassured me of delivery by month's end (as late as yesterday). We'll see. Ultimately, I'll have my say on the infamous MINI dealer survey if things don't work out to my satisfaction.

Sweet - we're all built and ready to ship! Hoping they can squeeze her onto the Don Juan on Sunday. All in all, this process seems to be going pretty fast, hope it stays that way! Just sold the minivan (we're definitely downsizing!), so ready to go.
