Hey everybody - we bought a 2012 Cooper S Clubman about a month ago, and have been in love with it ever since. Full black (windows being tinted as I type this), opted for smaller 16" wheels over the 17" black wheels that were on it (they did look badass). Also - it is an auto (I know, it makes me sad too. It's not a *bad* auto, which is nice).

Anyway, only complaints so far are a couple of rattles from what appears to be the area between the ceiling and roof that come and go, and some disappointment from the H/K system. However, the car is unbelievably fun to drive (my wife, who's always said "it's just a car", texted me after her first trip in it to say "That was FUN"), looks fantastic, and we couldn't be happier.

 

I should note that my being disappointed with the H/K system in our Clubman has only recently been made worse after driving a Paceman loaner with an H/K system. The difference was astonishing.

Nothing wrong with an automatic! In Chicago traffic that's a plus, not a minus!

I'm from the Chicago area also (sw side suburb) and do lots of events with the Chicago MINI Motoring club... you should check them out, lots of fun!

 

Welcome to NAM and congrats on your new MINI. Not sure what the disappointment is regarding the Harman Kardon stereo system. I have one in my Roadster and love, love, love it. I must add that I also have it in a Clubman and it doesn't sound exactly the same. The Roadster sounds way better.

Very nice MINI! I haven't seen a triple black Clubbie like that - so many have the C-pillars in silver or a colored roof, but yours is quite striking.
