I am wondering if the Mini Cooper S lasts a long time without expensive repair.

 

Currently 308,000. Usual expected repairs, original clutch though.

Thanks! Very heartening news. I hear that a clutch job would break the bank! Good you haven't had to do one. Currently, I have 116,000+ miles and needed valve cover replaced. Check Engine Light still on, though. It's a blemish on the dashboard! Will also do a carbon cleanup and then see if the Chk Eng Light goes off. If not, I just live with it. Drives like a TOP!

 

There is a lady that live near me with over 371,000 on her 2007.

What's Crappy Tune referring to? Tuneups aren't helping?

 

Broke 200,000 friday night. It's been very trouble-free, original clutch, I just changed the tensioner unit a week ago. LCA bushings are next, they're totally shot.

Only things that have left me stranded were a destroyed crank pulley (replaced with an 05 model) and a plastic clip in the shifter that got it stuck in 3rd gear.

Broke 50k within 20 months, 100K within 4 years and 200k within 9 years. Cheers to another 100k!

Over 200,000! Just wanted to say that that is very good news for you and good for me too. I am not going to give up my Mini on account of a check engine light going on and off for months now. The car drives very well. If it's not broken don't fix it is the maxim. Well, maybe in a while I will see about cleaning out the carbon buildup..

 

Turned 312,000 yesterday, still running strong
