Can't wait, help calm me down!

Hi there,

I am new to the forums and this is my first car. Done with negotiation and papers and my MA said that he would place the order today. I was told that the wait is 6-8 weeks approx but my heart beats like a drum since the last few day

Anyone who has experienced with the normal/abnormal wait please share to calm me down. This is really killing me. I would appreciate if you guys can tell me how long it took each of you to get to see your baby. Thank you very much

Easy......, calm down and take deeeeep breaths! Spend copious amount of time on NAM reading various subjects. Also live vicariously through those that come before you and receive their MINI's.

Welcome to the NAM. We would all love to see a picture of what your new MINI looks like, kind of an initiation here.

As for how long it takes to get your MINI, take a look at my signature line. The only reason I haven't picked mine up yet is that I've been super picky about a couple of things but I should have it by the end of the week. Oh if you live on the west coast you need to add a 1 to 1 1/2 weeks till delivery.

Make sure you create an account at the Owners Lounge and download your car's manual, it'll kill a few hours and you may learn something. http://ol.miniusa.com

Welcome and congrats on your new MINI. I know exactly where you're at. I ordered just recently and realize that there's lots of material to study up on. That should help make the time go by more quickly.

Thank you a bunch to Tex6 and Chimera

To Tex6, I am trying to pretend that I am not waiting for anything but my gut is acting too strong. Anyways, I am feeling better when I speak it out . By the way, I have been reading the topic " the wait group..something" and it somehow helps me predict what would happen to my order. I took a look at your order period, I think you have been through a very reasonable time frame. You must be very excited right? I live in Midwest, I guess mine might arrive on the east coast? Anyways, your baby is here!! Enjoy the ride

To Chimera, I haven't received the production number. Once I receive one, I won't hesitate to sign up for the mini lounge. May I ask, how long it took you to receive production number from the day you placed the order? I will download manual's and stuff as you suggested. Last, I ordered the Black Bullet star too. Cheers

* I have no idea how to add photo
mine is, 2013 hardtop pepper white, exterior line chrome, black bullet star

Welcome! I'm in the same boat: ordered mine on 3/29 and the wait is killing me!

Ditto what was said about registering in the Owner's Lounge, downloading the manual(s), etc. I figure that by the time I get the car, I should know how to operate everything.

The wait is horrible, but it helps to find others to share it with. Once you are scheduled on a boat you can gather others that are sharing the journey. My boat group stayed active for years and am still in contact with one of them.

It's been over 5 years now since I have gone through this, but as I look back at it I have found memories of the wait (now that it is over).

Just think! You'll be driving your new MINI by summer. Woo Hoo!

Thank you Mini2na

You know what, You got me excited about it again with your last paragraph lol and it's awesome!!

I know this is one of the special things about having MINI. We all undergo the same pain of the wait and see lots of help meanwhile which it doesn't happen to other brands owners in the street and I love it

As others have said, hang out with the "Waiting on a 20xx" group and exchange notes. Haunt the Owner's Lounge, and keep in touch with your MA.

Mine was ordered last year, 2/4, built on 2/27, arrived in Baltimore on 3/16, in St. Louis on Thursday night 3/22. Dealer prep took until Monday 3/26, but then there was a computer snag installing the JCW tuning kit...I took delivery on Wednesday, 3/28.

I look back on it as a particularly fun time...like waiting for Christmas morning for 7 weeks or so! Actually, I ended up wishing for some way to track it on the truck to STL, since I'd been able to stay pretty informed about it up till that point.

Good luck!
