First post ~ and first-time Mini owner..
Hello!
Just picked up my first Mini yesterday. I'm utterly smitten. I've been a Porsche owner for a long time, but decided I wanted to sell the 911 I'd been driving and replace it with something different. On a whim I bought a 2008 Mini Cooper S (Pepper White, Black top and Redwood Leather interior) yesterday and I can't believe how much I like this car! SO much fun to drive and I already see many customizations in my near future.
I'm in the Kansas City area, so I'm looking forward to meeting up with other Mini owners at local club gatherings. My husband is 6'5" and never fit comfortably in my Porsche (another reason I wanted to trade it)...but he can't get over how much room he has in the Mini. Who knew a "mini" was so NOT mini inside?!? Not us!
24 hours of ownership down and I'm all smiles.

Congrats and welcome aboard. White on red looks great. Make sure you get it to the dealer to make sure all the recalls and TSB's were performed. Check your oil every 500-1000 miles and change it with synthetic every 5-7500k IMO. It will save you in the long run. And most importantly remember to WAVE.

It is a blast...group drives, events, track days, even burger or Ice-cream runs (perhaps BBQ runs in your area!) are a blast. All are a good chance to see other cars, see what can be done, and more importantly, learn a bit about the car...make a big $$ in saving on MX.

Welcome to the world of "MINI". I had the same reaction when I drove mine for the first time.I love youre color combination, its my favorite and is the first mini i've seen with that red seats,very sharp!
