Hi -

Joining the forum to learn about Mini's. Looking to replace my Bimmer - and Mini's are on my short list. Hoping to learn about the pluses, minuses so I can make an informed decsion. Any and all help, comments and 'what packages to buy' are most welcomed. I'm narrowed down to the Clubman S or Countryman AWD S . Thanks.

Welcome!
I'll give you my 2 cents. I have an 03 mini as my weekend toy and my wife drives an x3 as her daily driver. She just got a new job and will be commuting to white plains (45 min) every day. While we love the Beemer we are going with an all4s as her replacement. We love the handling, quirkiness, and the mini community can't be beat.
Good luck with your search. If you do join the "team", be sure the check out Nemini.org for local events. There is also an active mini club in Albany but I can't think of there name at the moment.

Thanks Enzof. I'm hoping if I switch over to Mini - it will bring some more FUN into the driving equation. ANy thoughts on JCW vs S package (in other words - JCW worth the money?) Certainly the all4s are good for our winters. Can you share what dealer you work with and how their service is? Local dealer here doesn't get rave reviews. I'll check on the Mini clubs. Thanks again. Geoff

I guess it depends on your preference when it comes to the S vs JCW. Personally I would love the jcw but the price is just too high. To me I'd rather have a heavily optioned S than a jcw without the options I want/need. you can still have a TON of fun in the S. the problem with minis is that the options cost so much.
Working with mini of new Fairfield in ct fir the all4. No service yet.
I do my own work on my r53.
