Belt size for 17% pulley + 2% crank pulley

Can anyone confirm belt size for this setup? I am running a Napa 539 belt. Is that what's recommended?

Thanks for your help!

Alta has a table for beltsizes....
imo it is not 100% correct, cause the last time i looked, the suggested belt size for the 17% was larger most most folks use....the one they list is ok when new...
Going for a the equivelant of a 19% reduction! Bet it will be a screamer in town at lower rpms! Just hope you don't start to hit codes due to max fuel flow cutoff at larger throttle inputs...but i know some runers can fix that.
Sounds like rmw is retuning it? Or just getting a new belt?

A 539 belt is too long. You need something like a 532.

...actually with a -17, and a +2, he needs a LONGER belt than with just a -17.....so i bet the 532 will be too tight...it is snug on a -17, without a bigger crank damper....539 might still be too snug....guess that is why he is asking....and i defered to alta...

gates: #060547 =1404mm = stock Cooper S belt
gates: #060539 = 1385mm = ok for stock OR w/ 15% pulley or 17% pulley
gates: #060535 = 1379mm = best w/ 15% (and with either the 0% or 2% crank pulley)

Thank you everyone for your posts. Still not really sure if I should stay with 539. I see about 1/4 of a hole...still confused as there seems to be different opinions...

Update. I just put a 535 belt and I can now see almost a full hole. Therefore 539 was indeed a bit too long a belt as I couldn't see any holes in the tensioner. Thank you!

Indeed Braminator. I purchased a tensioner tool so eventually I will also try to put a 532 and see how that goes. For now 535 is perfect.

Belt size for 17% pulley + 2% crank pulley
So the 535 seems to be working for you and the 539 you tried was too large? This is good to know for when others use the same set up.

I am now running a 535. The 539 was a bit too long. I am even thinking about running a 532 as with warm engine the tensioner is showing about half a hole (or less). I am just guessing by visualizing how much of the hole on the tensioner flat center tab is above the spring.

I am glad you found out that with a 17% SC pulley and +2% Crank pulley a 539 was too big. Keep us posted on the 532.

Haven't tried 532 as 535 is perfect for that set up. As Eric said, Go with 535!
