350Z to R56 and never looking back!!

Drove a Nissan 350Z for the last two years and my wife said she wanted to try a MINI out, I was skeptical at first but have always loved the way they looked. I am a HUGE fan of British television and figured I would give the Cooper a look due to it's British roots. Surprised to see how much room there was in the car, I'm 6'3" and 250 lbs and dont feel crammed in at all.... doesn't mean I don't get funny looks getting out of the car at gas stations, but fortunately I hardly ever have to visit one due to the insane fuel economy. This car handles better than the 350Z, is more exciting, has better visibility, and way more interior options. What I lost in speed I dont even miss when the turbo kicks in and I am whipping in and out of traffic. I am a MINI owner for life!!

Congrats. I test drove a 350Z (and a 370Z as well.) recently, and while they had their merits, the handling, visibility, and fun factor of the MINI blows them out of the water.

So this was the baby before I was converted. I never thought I would say that a MINI would be more fun but I have taken this very Z down the Great River Road from Minnesota down to Iowa along the bends and turns of the Mississippi and I can tell you after just a few weeks of owning a MINI it turns tighter, has more grip, better braking (even over the Brembos) and feels much more comfortable on a long trip.

My buddy had a 350Z convertible ('08). It was a pretty awful looking car compared to the hardtop. In fact, he was looking at a MINI vert until the Nissan salesman chased him across the parking lot and knocked 10K off the sticker.

I drove it - plenty of power but sooo heavy compared to the MINI. Didn't like the feel of the clutch or the stick, either.

Motor on!

I sold my 2007 Nissan 350Z 6-speed Roadster for my current mini.....The car seat fits great in the mini now...:-) Miss the roadster ALOT...It was a blast, but needed a bit more room for the kid.

Congrats and welcome! I had a hard look at the 370Z before I made my purchase but the MINI made better sense for me personally. I still love those 350Z's!

Welcome...I traded my 350z for a 2010 Jeep Sahara Unlimited aka the family cruiser and got a 06 MCS JCW as a toy/use for anything but a family cruiser lol I miss it from time to time I won't lie but the Mini is a lot more fun to drive...:-) puts a smile on your face every day.

CCCCC How do you like the Jeep? Thinking of a desert toy. Maybe a Rubicon.

I traded in my 370Z Sport+Touring for the Paceman S All4. Different animals but love this car. Nice to have back seats, awd and still keep a manual tranny.

Those are the "wash every time brakes are applied" alloys. ;-)

The Jeep is an amazing vehicle I customized mine a bit...lift kit, rock star XDs with Nitto Mud Grapplers, corsa dual exhaust k&n 77 series cai, and a super chips power programmer...I love it and will be keeping it forever.
I always tell people its a "a grown man's Lego set" my personal quote I came up with lol It's nice to have a hard top convertible, be able to remove your doors it's fun...plus jeeps hold there value not planning on getting rid of it ever but it's nice.

I was considering a Z, but my car broker who found me my CooperS said I would be stranded in the Nebraska snow in a Z. I've only had my Mini for 2 days and love it more than I thought I would. Happy guy!
