New Mini Owner in North Carolina

My wife has always wanted a Mini. We kept pushing it back on account of practicality (2 kids). We decided to throw practicality out the window and finally make the big step. I spent 4 months looking for the right car and happened across what I think was the best deal. My wife wanted an S but I pushed for the JCW. I found this one 3 hours from the house and drove up yesterday and bought it. The Kia dealer selling the car did not seem to know much about Carbon fiber or how much it costs; they didn't even mention it in the description but I seen it in the pictures they posted. This JCW has every available carbon fiber component cooper offers and it is full of upgrades looking at the build your own feature on their website. The car is a blast to drive, reminds me a little like the Cobalt SS I used to own but with more options and tighter suspension. Great car and the wife loves it. She will be right next to me now at the car shows when I show my Corvette.

Great find! And those rims are very expensive too. Sometimes dealerships that are selling the MINI (That aren't a MINI dealer) are the best since things like this happen when they don't even know all of the things the car has!

A few months ago someone bought an R53 "S" at a dealership - why they knew that the dealer didn't know was that it was actually a JCW

Thanks for the comments. Haha I told my wife she needs to watch her speed. Red sticks out like a sore thumb when you are driving down the road. You are almost guaranteed to get a ticket for speeding.

Beautiful car! Congrats and good luck with it. Hey, if you are on the western end of the state, come out to Greenville (SC) for the Upstate MINI's get-togethers.

Cheers!

Gorgeous. I'd say "drive it like you stole it," but that would be redundant. :D

ENJOY!

When is the get together? We would love to come out. It seems like the Charlotte area does not have a mini club? I think the closest is Raleigh.

Tar Heel MINIs (www.tarheelminis.org) is ostensibly based in Winston-Salem, but we pretty much cover the whole state. Some areas are more active than others. The folks in Charlotte have started to meet a little more regularly, so you might want to check them out.

It's actually tonight. This month it is at the "Lil Rebel" restaurant in Greer, SC. I can't make it, today is my 20th anniversary.

Most of the communications are on Facebook, so if you are a member, look up "Upstate MINIs". There is also upstateminis.com web site, but there seems to be less activity there.
