Just signed up as a new member. Due to recent surgeries, I've had to step away from the motorcycle scene for a while. I'm thinking having a Mini might help rub that "itch" for riding. Years back I had a Fiat X1/9 and loved the go-cart like handling and looking at modern cars I think the Mini is probably the only thing out there that can give me that same feeling. So, I'm on here to learn about the different models / years and see what might be right for me.

With the brief reading I've done, I'm thinking a S might be the right model for me rather than getting a standard Cooper due to the power advantage, but I'm not sure if the JCW is worth the extra $. I'm very interested in finding a used car to get started and I see there are some nice choices in the marketplace section.

So, I'm open for your opinions and direction. Help me get "educated" on the Mini world. Help me walk away from the bikes with a smile on my face!

thanks,
Jeff

Welcome, Jeff!

You have tons of info available here to help you with that decision. Best thing to do though is to go out and drive an S and a JCW and see which one calls out to you.

Both are great cars. I don't think you will be disappointed no matter which model you choose to purchase. Good luck on your search and don't settle until you find the Mini that fits your personality.
