Molly, if this helps, mine did the following:

9/12 complete
9/14 transported to port
9/15 at port awaiting vessel
9/18 on ship that will leave the next day
9/19 underway!

Sorry I have been a downer, I am just frustrated I ordered before you, then not only did you complete earlier but also got transportation faster. I really need that car ready for me to pick up in Oklahoma before the 12th or it is going to mess up a lot of other things.

Wow, that's fast. If we all could be so lucky...

i just taught a friend of mine how to drive stick--he loves it now, and wishes his mazda3 weren't automatic. a convert!
Mine is an automatic but only because of my back and leg issues. Just had my second surgery on the back to hopefully give some relief. I had to get rid of my 02 Jeep Wrangler soft top with standard transmission, which I just absolutely loved from the day she arrived in Hawaii. I drove her 3 years over there and then moved her to Florida and thoroughly enjoyed her until about 4 weeks ago when we sold her. Then a week later we went to the dealership and order Mz. Scarlett which is sitting at the port waiting for a boat.

I could drive anything in Hawaii and be happy!

Here's another interesting detail about shipping. When I entered my VIN at the WW vessel site a week or so ago, it gave me no result. But when the ship actually arrived, it gave a full history, as though it was always destined to get on the Tonsberg. See attached. I ordered my Mini on August 4th, yet the first date in the manifest is late July -- 7/24/12 -- likely a spot reserved when my dealer ordered its next showroom car, which got converted to my custom car when I placed the order. Then comes 9/10/12, when my Mini finally made it from production down to Southampton. At that point, the WW site was still showing nothing, but the 9/10/12 date suggests that it had already passed to the shipper, at least on paper, and perhaps in actual possession -- as in a storage facility owned by WW. The final date, 9/19/12, is the day my Mini actually got on the ship and left the port. The WW site first gave me an affirmative result the day before that, however, suggesting that my Mini boat was in line to get on a ship at last, as opposed to sitting in a warehouse at the docks, waiting to get on the next ship WW had available.

I know right. It was amazing and I'm so happy we had the opportunity to live there. Would go back in a heartbeat. With my MINI of course....

Is this where you enter your vin# to see what's happening with shipping? I hope I'm doing it right?

Correct. Enter it in the "Cargo" box and click on "track" below.

ARRRG!!!! What Ship????

Well, here's the scoop: Ordered July 23, 2012, got stuck with August factory holiday, production completed September 4th, at port Sept 7th. Updated to "in transit" by Mini robot I believe on 11th-13th. My MA couldn't give me any additional info, the WW site doesn't have my VIN in cargo ID either. I think I might be on K-Line Car/RoRo vessel "Athens Highway" which left Southhampton on Friday, Sept. 14th. If that's the one I'm on, it's scheduled to make port on Saturday, 22nd in Baltimore, MD. Is anyone else having problems with shipping information? Or if you left around the same time what ship are you on?

Stumped!

Well, I'm now thinking I might be waiting for the Kline. I sent the schedule to my MA and asked if he thought I'd be on one of them but he said he didn't recognize any of the ship names and said the ships that he knows of are the Elektra, California Highway and a few others. Are either of these names familiar to anyone?

The Midwestern Auto Group in Columbus, OH is where my car will arrive! I will let you know how long the travel time from the docks of Baltimore takes!

Impatient

I was hoping for an offload in Baltimore on Sept. 22nd. After some searching I think Charleston is closer to my dealer so if I'm on K-Line's Athens Highway, I won't get offloaded in Charleston until Sept 28. Another week of waiting I guess.

Woohoo. I'm on the Topeka muddy-funksters! Departs on the 24th....what are they doing for three days? Loading hundreds of cars on board or something?

Youngdoc: Mine too says it was booked on the 24thJuly. I wonder if they just book a certain number of spots?

Could be. Where is your Mini's final destination city?

Looks like my wifes car just got off the Tombarra. Does that mean the car has been delivered to VDC or is on a truck?

My car (a 2012 Countryman, so it's been discussed in the 2012 thread) was (I think past tense is appropriate here...) on the Tombarra and my statuses are the same as yours except my timestamp on the Liner Release is a few minutes later.

As best as I can tell these recent updates are the last statuses what people got on the WW site. The BMW VDC is essentially next door to the slip that the Tombarra was docked on, so I'd expect any cars that had cleared customs to end up there right away. Time at the VDC seems to vary, I've seen reports of cars going out the next day and some where it is there for a few days (I also think the NY VDC doesn't work weekends).

My car only needs to make it to MINI of Manhattan, so hopefully it'll be there soon (if not already)? I'll probably give them a call!

Apparently the East Coast Docworkers strike has been averted for another three months (Dec 29). This is good new for folks expecting shipment of their MINIs after Oct 1, like me.

The Baltimore Sun has a web page about this: http://www.baltimoresun.com/business...,5763881.story

Just called and the Robot says my MINI is in transit. Is this possible. My MA, as of yesterday had no info on it and no where am I able to get info. I talked to a rep and they said that if the Robot has updated and says in transit then it has left the port. ??? I'm so confused and don't want to get my hopes up in case it hasn't left yet....

Kelmac,
Mine also ordered from MAG of Dublin. Was told "at port, awaiting shipping" today(9/21). Enjoy your new ride. Nice color choice,

Tom

I would trust ASK-MINI that it's on a boat. If a boat to your port left yesterday (or maybe the day before), that's probably the one you're on.
