So, destriping... what custom stripes are you doing? We're all over the map on this point over here. Though, we have a month's sailing to think about it...

The custom stripes come from Graphix stripes. They are close to Chili Red in a dual wide stripe with 1/2" accent stripes on each side. They will also extend down further that the Mini Viper stripes do, both in the front and rear. When done, I'll post pictures. Should be interesting

Should be interesting to see what your MINI will look like with the new stripes!

Great videos Jimmy. I love playing with the Mini Connected features. Just for fun I did a jailbreak on my old iPhone4 and downloaded a couple of files from the Cydia store and using the plugin feature I can play my videos anytime I like. I'm not suggesting that it's ok to watch movies while you drive but having the ability to have video playing anytime is pretty awesome.

Jimmy, What's that white shi*, oops, stuff laying all over the ground there? We finally got rid of ours last week. And, as for getting over the break in period in 8 days, actually I think that the break in period is 1500 miles, but who's counting, you put half of that just driving home from the Twin Cities, right? Kidding, enjoy these guys are fun. I was just thinking tonight as I was driving home from Walmart, just what a great car my Lil Guy has been. Never really any trouble, goes like hell, and still gets well over 30 mpg, so how could one ask for more. Whoever gets this car will be getting a very good one. Nothing wrong with it at all, but it will be turned in with the winter tires on it.

Well Tex6 any more news on your little guy? I thought that my Lil Raggi took a extremely long time to get to the dealers, but yours beats mine. We will take delivery on Saturday, and be on our way home that afternoon. The stripes should be on him by now, but my MA is off on Thursdays, so I will have to wait until tomorrow, and add to this that I think that she comes in at 01:00 on Fridays. So, who knows when I will see the final result of the the custom stripes. Made the appointment for changing the tires, and putting them on my Motegi Racing Wheels. We painted them, with hardener, a gloss black, so what isn't Red, or Pepper White will be offset in gloss black. We did the JCW scuttles in gloss black too. I have black headlight rings to go with the black headlight buckets, so there will be several changes to him the first week in Iowa. Later.

Received an e-mail from my MA, my MINI should be arriving late today or tomorrow. I will be there tomorrow to check it out and make a last minute decisions on stripe color etc. Pick up won't be until next week sometime. I'm taking taking the day off from work for sure! Also received word today that my personalized plates have come in, so things are pulling together.

Looking forward to lots of pics hemisedan!

They let you order your plates before getting your car? What all did you need to order? Did you buy them online?

Check here: http://www.myplates.com/

They're not cheap. But what the heck! I have to wait until my initial plates come in (ugh!) Once I have them, I can go and switch them out with my personalized plates.

Bill, looks like you're in the home stretch of less than 24 hours!!!

So far Marron has been awesome, i've got about 300 miles so far and im off this weekend so its gonna be a great time for some top down motoring. As for an update on how the car works, the few things that i've noticed that bother me (nothing too large that I cant live with) would be: the wind deflector is hard to see through and at night the headlights show up as a starburst pattern so its even harder to see through, huge blindspot with top up (its been up for a total of :20 driving time so not too bad, and on the openometer its a picture of the cabrio and not the roadster (this is my biggest pet peeve of all)

These will fit the R58 & R59 also.

This bugs the heck out of me too. If I could even get a dial face without a picture I would be much happier!

Openmeter

Personally, I could tell where you could stick that openmeter, but Mini/USA most likely wouldn't like that. A better use of that gauge spot would be to put a turbo boost gauge, or combination oil pressure/coolant temperature. Now, that WOULD make sense. Who cares what percentage of the time the tope is up or down, I certainly don't. But, that's just me.

Just 24 more hours and I will be able to see Lil Raggi in person, touch him and then try and figure out Mini Connect. That'll be interesting.

Bill

You lucky dog you!

I finally received the words I've been waiting to here from my MA, "Your MINI has just been off loaded from the truck." Finally, it's at the dealer. Tomorrow I'll go and take look at her, figure out the last bits to be added to her and take some pictures too. I'll post them later on tomorrow.

A couple of other things are happening tomorrow at the dealership. On the first Saturday of the month the dealership provides breakfast for everyone that shows up. I went last month and met some cool people. Also the local MINI car club (Metroplex Mini) starts the "Save the Wave" tour from this location. What is that you ask? Well take a look here: http://www.metroplexmini.org/forum/s...ad.php?t=35412
I joined the club before getting my MINI. Great bunch of Miniacs who are really into their cars and love to have fun. I really wanted this event to be my MINI's debutant ball so to speak, but it wasn't in the cards, oh well. It should be a fun and exciting day!

This morning, first checking at 7:30, my status via the Owners' Lounge was she was still en route. Just checked not at 9:50 and she's reportedly in the VDC. I'm really hoping this OL is so backed up that she's really on a car carrier headed to my dealer, already. So tired of waiting!

Initial Pictures

I got to see my new MINI for the first time yesterday! Granted the ride height is a little high right now due to it's being in transport mode yet, nothings been done to it other than a quick wash before the pictures. I couldn't get any really great pictures because of the MINI event going on. More to follow upon pickup!
