So when you finally get your Mini and take him for a ride he might start catching the fever? Then again when you get your Mini he probably shouldn't expect you home until the early AM as you will probably be out motoring all day and night. I could see a cop pulling you over asking why you keep driving around and around an area and with that crazy smile your probably have still he might make you do a few tests like walking the white line. I can see it now.. "I'm sorry officer I can't do that as I just got my Mini and I am NOT getting back out unless it is to refill the gas tank and if I can find full service I will make someone else do that too"

I wonder how many brand new Mini Cooper owners have been pulled over the first day and the police officers have wondered or raised suspicion based on the crazy grins on their faces?

Funny, funny story:
My hubby came to pick me up from the hospital. When I went to get in my car, there were ants everywhere. Stupid me, I wasn’t in my right mind when I parked it and I parked directly under a big sap tree. Well, being the girly girl that I am, I jumped out and told my hubby he had to drive my car home and I would drive his Denali.

Well, Dennis is a VERY tall man 6' 5" and with my Mini being a manual, it is almost impossible for him to drive it, his knees have to straddle the steering wheel, but he makes due.

Well, to make a short story longer: it was a beautiful day and of course, he put the top down and pulled out of the parking lot. I was driving behind him.

Here he is, in a chili red convertible, top down, Crystal license plate that reads PLAAFLL, driving in Laguna Beach (where there is a strong gay community) - when a man pulls up next to him and gives a very weird look/stare ---- Well, my hubby knew exactly what the guy was thinking, so in my hubby’s true character, he turned to the guy, gave him a long wink, blew him a kiss and drove away. My son and I were behind him and watched the whole thing happen --- talk about wanting to pee my pants! Friggin hilarious.

Needless to say, he really isn't in to driving my baby around town ----- but…………………. he does like the way I look in it teeheeheeeheeeheee

 

That is beyond perfect made me laugh. And to think my Wife tells me I am embarrassing. That blows away most of the stuff I have done over the years or meant to do should I say. (She says I am embarrassing even without trying but I think that goes for most guys)

By comparison your car is close to you. Mine is in Baltimore and will be trucked to Minneapolis and I live in North Dakota. I have to take the train to Minneapolis then make my way to the dealership to get mine

You are right, my baby is close. My dealer is only 10 miles from my office. So once she gets there (no matter day or night, rain or shine) I am there to pick her up!

I hope you bring something to entertain yourself on that train ride. I can barely keep myself seated I'm so anxious. think this whole process has brought on adult hyperactivity or ADD or ADHD or whatever they are calling it now.

 

I think the name is great I'll be sleeping on the train thank goodness. I got a sleeper car and the train leaves at 10pm and arrives at 7:30am. So with any luck I'll arrive rested and ready to motor around the city

Feeling the pain as I was looking to hear something today as it was dropped off at the VDC last Saturday but no word yet. MA had called and was looking for a Thur or Fri but now I am think Sat if I am lucky. So close, yet soooooooooooooo FAR AWAY.

Funny Thing: My wife who wants to kill me every time I say the word "Mini" or talk about anything in relation to cars (as she is afraid the conversation will end with me talking about Minis) actually called me at work today to ask if I'd heard anything! I was so shocked...but sadly I didn't have any news either.

 

You have to be coming in soon, we were on the same boat. I pick mine up tomorrow at 4:00PM so there will be Mini **** coming out of Charlotte tomorrow evening!!!!!! Got the call from my MA this afternoon, had to pull over since my hands had a hard time staying on the wheel and not jumping up and down all over my truck.
