Looking at the WW site I searched what ships would be leaving Southampton to the NY City/ Jersey city port and if I did that correctly it shows 2 as of now.

The Torino leaving Southampton on 21/12/2012 arrival on 2/1/2012
or the Aida leaving Sothampton on 14/1/2013 arrival on 23/1/2013

Im hoping since its at the dock it fits on the boat on the 21

The Torino just left Germany today. My JCW Countryman was awaiting transport to port since monday. I don't think it made the ship...esp since word is the JCW Countrymans don't have the right "paperwork" to make it into the US and they may just sit at the port for a month until this is cleared up. Ugh.

Im guessing your JCW Countryman was made in Germany and not in Oxford?

Countryman are made on the BMW X1 Platform in their plant in Austria. Then they take a train to a port in Germany which the ships stop 2 days before SouthHampton.

Oh ok I see now, that's a bummer about it missing the ship. Even worse about them being held up for paper work.

Hubby and I took delivery of Jasper tonight, our new Coupe in Lightning Blue/Black. Hubby is as excited as I have ever seen him... a new car with six (SIX!!!) miles on the odometer. We are now a two MINI family.

There were no surprises, no trying to talk us into something we didn't want, we got the extraordinary interest rate of .9% AND $500 off base price AND our $750 Not Normal discount. Plus, we received an extra discount on the extended warranty and the Gap insurance. MINI of San Diego handled it so well that we smiled the entire time, with no moments of frustration or concern. They did everything we asked them to, with cheer and good will. We would not hesitate to send our best friends or our family to Marc.

Our MA gave us a boot mat, wheel locks, and a nice key chain. We gave him a box of good Christmas cookies.

We are home now, and so pleased with the whole purchase, we can't wait for the weekend to take Jasper out and drive around.

I wish that everyone could have the same excellent transaction and go away perfectly happy with their shiny new MINI!

Joanie! Thanks for showing us that pic. I had no idea you got the fixed wing too. Doesn't that just make it look better? I think so. I'm very happy for you and look forward to many more pics from you. You must be thrilled! That Coupe FB thread is also pretty active so feel free to post away there.

Looks like I'll be getting mine the weekend of the 29th. Definitely posting pics once I do.
Yes, we really like the look of the fixed wing. We like it even better right there on the car, looking perfect and just like it came from the factory that way! Even at the dealership today, everyone from the Parts guy to the Service guys knew our car, because they had all checked it out while it was being installed. When I got a chance to drive Jasper just now, I noticed that people were really checking him out... and two people tried to race me. They're lucky that he needs to be broken in first! He doesn't have a turbo, but with the Sport button, he's pretty quick for city streets!
Anxious for you to get yours, Kurtster, and to see your happy grin. Life is good, my friend. Life is good.

LOL! So glad to hear you and the Hubby are happy with Jasper. I suppose I should stay off the roads in your neck of the woods this weekend (besides, don't want to steal any of your well deserved thunder).

And yes, a Coupe with a fixed spoiler gets a LOT of looks (and finger pointing, and full 180 degree head swings, and jaw drops...). It's nice being unique, eh?

BTW, I fully expected to see an updated sig photo with tandem Mini's included in your signature line by Monday young lady!

Man, you're lucky GlazerFL. It took more than 3 weeks between my order date and production date and yours was only 3 days.

Graduation Photo! After 42 long days, it's here.

As an observation... I'm not sure what the fuss is about the run flats. I have 17" and the sports suspenstion and all the fillings are still in my teeth. It wasn't harsh at all to me.

Good to know! I suspected that would be e case. One guy here in Boston actually traded his Coupe in for a different car because he said the ride was so rough. I think a lotto these people who complain about harshness come from a sedan world, not a sports car world. I'll bet when mine comes it won't be any more rough than my R53 with sport suspension was.

Thank you for the photo as it really does help with the waiting. Plus I appreciate the feedback about the sports suspension with the 17" Run Flats. When I first was preparing to order my JCW the finance guy was telling me all kinds of horror stories about the Sports Suspension and Run Flats from Engines almost falling out to major back issues. After going back to the dealer last night to work out an issue I realized he was full of "poop" to put it nicely as I caught him in several lies back to back and now I can read that man and would love to play him in Poker as I'd rake in his cash. Luckily the Sales Manager was down to earth and very nice and is working to keep everything on track which was greatly appreciated.

I would have to agree with the customers coming from larger sedan type rides to mini that most likely are the ones complaining. BMW/Mini do promote the Mini Car line as having handling like a Go-Cart so I base my judgement when I test drove it by comparing it to a Go-Cart and in that comparison it is a very smooth and very nimble handling, although I'd never try to fishtail a mini like I do with a go-cart everything else is awesome.

@ spinlock, congrats! your mini is really beautiful. I don't say that about Minis... I don't think all babies are cute either... YOUR Mini is a beauty.

I never test drove the JCW because its never in a dealership but I did test drive a Cooper S with 17" run flats + sports suspension. I don't think it was bad either... I come from Inifiniti G35 Sedan, which is much more sportier than the Lexus IS or something but... I thought the tires were fine. I think Mini driver want a Mini because they want to be connected to the road.

If I wanted a smooth, quite, ride that feels like I'm sitting in my bedroom... I would've got a lexus or something. But I rather Drive.

Thanks @brownisland! I wanted a mini, but I had to make sure it wouldn't be mistaken for a chick car, so I went as aggressive as styling would allow!

I'm with you on the suspension thoughts. I was going to get the JCW suspension, but my MA, a personal friend, said she would not let me do it because she didn't want to rob me. She said go aftermarket. lol

I was going to ditch the run-flats on day one, but I will wait till they die before replacing them now.
