They should have some type of name for this condition such as MINI-WAIT-INITIS or something like that. Well, at least I found you guys, a support group always helps! So, I keep checking the Owner Resources to "Track my Baby", currently it is En Route to the Distribution center although, it has been in that status for a week now. It was waiting to ship for about 10 days prior to this. I know many of you have gone through this, so, thanks in advance for listening and supporting me!

One other thing, I owned a 2003 MINI S prior to this in Lazer Blue, it was my favorite car I ever owned, hence, my decision to repurchase another MINI. I searched all over looking for a MINI I could both afford and give me the options I wanted. For some reason however, I found the two dealers I live near, (Tempe and Scottsdale, AZ) mainly had automatics on the lot. Automatics?? really?? I just don't understand why you would want an automatic MINI, no offense to you Automatic owners, but, doesn't it take a little fun out of driving a MINI? Anyway, that is why I had to order custom, to get the color and transmission I wanted. So...now I wait while all of you enjoy your MINIs, please think about my cause...as some of you have gone through it already, I'm sure the wait will be worth it in the end. Until then, Hope to see you on the road soon...Happy Motoring Everyone!
Welcome to the madness. I know what you mean about automatics. I searched a lot of dealers' inventory trying to find what I was looking for and by eliminating the automatics there was very little to choose from! But it really isn't that surprising based on the numbers - check this out (according to Edmunds.com):

The manual transmission take rate -- a calculation of the percentage of cars purchased domestically that had stick shifts -- was 6.98% for the first five months of 2012, higher than it's been since 2006. A look at how manuals have fared on the market over the last decade:

2011 -- 3.85%

2010 -- 3.95%

2009 -- 4.4%

2008 -- 3.71%

2007 -- 2.91%

2006 -- 7.16%

2005 -- 6.67%

2004 -- 5.46%

Seems like eventually there won't be many of us that still know how to drive a stick! I know a lot of young drivers (my kids friends) have no idea.

Yep. My VIN works now. It lists several items including ETA in NYC of 12-26.

Welcome Minikrupa! Agreed on automatics. Both my wife in her Clubman and I with both of my cars prefer manual transmissions. Not surprised you came back to the brand. It's got great character and I think it's the most fun anyone can have in a FWD car.

Frustrating Update on the Florida Highway

The Florida Highway, according to Live Ships is currently at the port of Southampton loading. BUT, according to Track and Trace the Florida Highway left yesterday on Voyage 0046-FHI which, incidentally, doesn't exist in the data base. Even more frustrating is that she's expected to arrive at BALPOA on either Dec 23 or Dec 26 depending on the source of the data.

The K-Lines Schedule has the Florida Highway departing Southampton on Dec 15 (today) and arriving in BALPOA on Dec 24.

Arcrys, Me too. Car "in transit" as of 12-11. Don't know the ship or the ETA. In Port Huenme. Countryman coming from Bremerhaven. My dealer has no info, surprisingly.

Spinlock, just got a note from my MA saying mine was processed and released to truck the same day. We expect my MINI to be at the dealer any day now! So exciting!

Graduation is coming soon!

JCW Countryman sitting at VPC in Brunswick on hold according to MA. Anyone else get this message:

On Hold: Monroney, Release

Not sure what it means other than probably won't take delivery until after the holidays.

DooBahDoo, there's a thread in the R60 forums ("Finally broke down... and ordered a JCW") where Theta posted that there is an issue with the certificates (EPA, Monroney (those are the stickers they are required to post on the window of all new cars, showing MSRP, etc.)) and they are not cleared for release to the US until all of those issues are cleared up.

Theta says the inside communication to the dealers from MINI is that it could be a 4-5 week delay before they can ship them to the States. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. :(

I just ordered mine last Monday and my MA said it went into production on Tuesday. He hasn't said anything to me about this issue, so I'm hoping (for my sake, lol) that it only affects shipping at this point and not production. I wasn't expecting mine for a little while anyway, so maybe they can have it cleared up by the time mine was supposed to ship.

I guess I'll still be expecting a few weeks of delay, but it definitely sucks for those who were expecting theirs any day now. :(

Is this just for the R60?

Florida Highway

Can anyone tell me why the FLORIDA HIGHWAY (PA) is headed NE out of the English Channel towards Bremerhaven rather than SW and the Atlantic Ocean?

And, why is it listed as "Cargo - Hazard A (Major)?

It was first listed as the next port being Southampton and it went to Bremerhaven and then Southampton. Now it listed as ship whose next port after Southampton is supposed to be Baltimore, but is heading back towards Bremerhaven. Is this suspicious behavior?????

You are correct. It's easy peasey. Just paste your VIN in the Cargo field and it all popped up. I'd check your paperwork and make sure it says "Priority 1" on the top then call the MA and ask them if there's any chance it's on the Queen Sapphire but just not showing up. I hope it's there.

I think it's just for the JCW Countryman, since its a brand new model. But don't quote me on that. I haven't heard/read anything about delays for other models.

For those with MINIs on the Queen Sapphire which is leaving Southampton today (any update, Arcrys?) it is interesting to note that it's docked at the same berth where the Titanic once docked. There's a page with some interesting info about the area:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/hampshire/conte..._feature.shtml

and a voice narration on the page here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/southampton/rea...tanic_dock.ram

The Florida Highway is supposed to be headed towards its next port, Baltimore. Can anyone explain why the Florida Highway is chugging up the English Channel (towards Bremerhaven) rather than down the English Channel (towards the Atlantic Ocean and Baltimore)?

I'm Priority 1. However still not showing.

As there's not another boat I can get on until the new year putting my actual delivery of the vehicle at the end of Jan it seems I have a choice to make: wait for it or get a different car. After two months of delays (originally ordered at the start of October) but the order wasn't "accepted" until November.

I'm really leaning to getting a totally different car, just cant wait 4+ months for a cooper when there isn't anything more anyone, including my MA, can tell me about WTF is going on with it.

Never seen a company be so "meh" about selling something.

Acrys, I feel for you. I would be looking elsewhere also. I have not had the same lousy level of service that you are experiencing, but I am getting a definite "meh" vibe from my dealer when I asked her by text on Friday to let me know what ship my Countryman is on. Her response was basically, "Don't worry it will get here..."

Spinlock, my MA told me that it is on a truck by minimum Tuesday departure from Brunswick. She said that it has already left the VPC and that the carrier now has possession...and that they must depart by Tuesday 12/18!!!!

This seems to match your info about Sunday departure...looks like it could be stoping in Baton Rouge first, then Houston for me, then San Antonio for you...
It's only a 13 hr drive from Brunswick to Houston.

Let's keep each other informed.

Are you certain it was built the same day as mine? What do the agents at the 866 number say about where it is? I wouldn't go buy something else until you are certain where it is and if there are no existing ones at any dealers that could fulfill your desired car needs on the event that a mistake was made. I wonder if another dealer wants to get your car and is pulling some tricks to mess up your order. Nothing would surprise me.

I looked at a lot of other cars. There isn't really anything out there as unique as what you ordered. Cheaper, yes. As fun or well-made? Not from what I saw.
