Hi y'all! My name is Jamie. I have always wanted to own a MINI, my hubby and I have just bought an '06 Cooper CheckMate. We've owned it ALMOST 48 hours and we love it by the minute! Now, I'm not sure about the abbreviations thing, but I'll give it a shot so you guys will have something to laugh at! I just wanted to say hi and express my appreciation for this site/forum, it has helped us so much already.
We hope to be able to make some new friends, and maybe meet up and join with a MINI Club in our area. Thanks so much and y'all have a good day!

"The Theory Of MINI Naming" and "The History And Art Of The Wave" are both mandatory minimum requirements! They will make up the essay portion of the final exam and weigh 50% of your final grade.

Just kidding of course! All that matters is what works for you in the name of fun!

 

Thanks guys! Yall are awesome here! I'm from Butler, Ga. I now live in Reynolds, Ga.... only 9 miles away hahaha I'm about 45 minutes away from Macon/Warner Robins. I found out that a man we know who recently passed was a member of a MINI Club in Macon. His name was James Hinton, also from Reynolds, GA. We always called him Kim. Maybe someone will recognize the area I would be thrilled to meet other MINI friends

Like your car Black06beauty! I'm from Georgia too but live in Myrtle Beach now. Used to drive a Mini Clubman but traded it in for the new Countryman. I named my clubman Scarlett O'Hara since I am from the South but haven't named my Countryman yet. Your name Black Beauty would be a good name for yours if you want to name it! But like everybody says it's up to you! Have fun driving your Mini!

 

This is a neat idea, I had originally thought this would be a good name but I'm not quite sure. My husband has started calling me "the mean girl in the black MINI dress" ha ha ha he says I'm mean because I rubbed in that he has choked the engine down more than I have!
We've had our MINI since Thursday at noon, and the "Service Engine Soon" light came on Friday morning, and after a full inspection, found the oil a quart low, very low coolant and absolutely NONE in the resevoir, the brake pads are over halfway worn...... and the GM of the dealership drove this car for 3 months after having the head gasket and thermostat replaced. I'm starting to wonder if he even ran Premium!?!? They have agreed to fix all the problems I've found and run code diagnostics on it. I have faith in my MINI but this dealership has lost all of mine and any potential business they could ever earn form my family/friends! Sorry yall just venting.... Welcome to the insanity!!! Nice looking Mini. By the way, I just named mine after owning him for 7 months. Took awhile to figure one out.
Also, if you are close to Atlanta, check out www.waymotorworks.com He is an excellent source for upgrading or just keeping the Mini in tip top shape. He sells and has his own shop. Great guy. Name is Wayland.
