Aloha!
Aloha!
I'm in need of a newer DD and nothing out there interests me...and to be blunt, the MINI doesn't either, but I keep looking at it?!??!
I don't know much about this car and I tried searching but haven't hit anything pertaining to me.
If you were to buy a USED MINI, what would you check/look for?
What questions would you ask?
I do most of my maintenance, but have never ventured beyond Japanese makes. But I think it's about time. Thanks for ANY input.

If you can't find a car that "trips your trigger" perhaps you would be best off to simply buy a vanilla brand 4 door and be done with it. Why spend the extra $$ when your not excited about Mini, chances are that won't change even after you buy it.
PS--there's lots of threads on looking for a mini on this forum, just take a little time to search here!

I agree with the above comment.
Don't buy a MINI unless you love it. For me, a MINI can not be beat for the fun factor. I still love getting in it and driving after over 4 years of ownership. That has never happened for me before.
Get in a MINI and drive it through some twisties. Drive an "S" if you need/want power. If you don't fall in love, then look for something Asian. They make some fine, reliable cars.
I believe there is MotoringFile article on the purchase of a used MINI that will give you ideas of what to look for. Good luck.

Eh, Brah
I've owned a lot of cars over the years and my 2004 MSC is the most fun car to drive. The closest "other" car would be my 924 Porsche. Working on it is also a blast, a lot of mods available and a great supporting cast on this website.
I just wish I was back on the Island. The Mini is a ideal island car...... I guess that is why there are so many there/

Whaaatzz up!
Thanks for the responses..
I'm a car enthusiast -- not necessarily a MINI enthusiast, yet. Haven't lusted after a car in awhile, but I'm hardly a kid...I have some kind interest, then I buy it and have very long term relationship with it. That's how I roll..LOL.
I've have test driven it and it's got globs of space compared to what I drive now. And quieter and more comfortable! Handles great! All relatively speaking of course..
No one's answered my original question. Is their a FAQ somewhere? Things to check, be aware of, questions to ask, etc etc when purchasing a nice used MCS. I guess I'll do a more thorough search a little later on...last thing I need is a lecture from enthusiast telling me what I should or should not buy. Aloha!
(Edit: I guess there's some faqs here...I'll search. Thank you)
