production number does not match

I ordered 2012 Mini Cooper Hardtop yesterday and got the production number last night. For some reason the production number doesn't match the color I ordered on the ol.miniusa.com website. I emailed the MA to double check. Do these production numbers take a few days to update?

Yes it will be a few days, do not fret yet.

Basically there was a car ordered in the slot you took over, it was going to just be on the lot, but MINI would rather build a car knowing it was already sold. Thus, the bump the lot car for you.

yep, I had the same question when I checked on mine. The OL site initially said "British Racing Green" even though mine was spice orange. My MA told me NOT to click on the "confirm" button until the right color came up because it would lock that spec into the system even though he assured me it was going to be spice orange. So, hope you didn't go through the entire registration process. My MA said it would take 3-5 days for it to register right.

What system are you talking about? I went right through with confirmation and it updated itself in 24 hours. Like yetti said, it's just overriding a previously ordered car. I can't imagine why that would lock anything in..hmmmm.

Yeah, not sure what to tell you. I was just following what my MA told me. He said basically that if you confirm the spec it shows you, the OL site (what I called "the system") would forever say it was that spec regardless of what you chose (even though the MINI builders know what is actually being built). My MA says it's just a glitch in the site/system database. Glad it updated itself.

MINI of Peabody, one of the oldest (if not the oldest) in the country. Mark Foresta is my MA and has been great. While it remains to be seen how good the overall service is, Mark is off to a good start. For example, they didn't have the black mirror caps for ours when it arrived but he said he will come to my house in a couple weeks to swap out the orange ones once they arrive. That's what I call service.

That's strange. I created a profile using my production order number and confirmed it and even though the Mini initially had the wrong features, colors, etc. it changed to the correct order within a couple of days.
