So I found a suspicious 2009 JCW

It has 21,456 miles and price is 18,895 only this Sunday apparently due to a missprint in paper. It is blue with black top, has the numbers 04 on each side and has an exhaust (suggesting autocross in stock class maybe).

Anyway I've been looking around for R56 Cooper S's (manual only) and will likely autocross it.

here is my last car

Probably not an Auto-X car that is a Challenge car decal set.

well that's good. I didn't think anyone put put a giant 04 on their car unless it had an actual purpose. it also has an exhaust, which is legal in C-stock tho.

Can anyone comment on the clutch feel? it has a click just before the clipping point which is unlike the 6-speed base I'm borrowing now and unlike an S I drove.

I have to conclude that you haven't seen many MINIs. About the only thing I haven't seen hung on, bolted on or glued on a MINI are neon underbody lights and fox tails. But I'm sure they are out there somewhere.

UH oh my age is showing.

My 09 MCS did this. Took it into the dealer and they said it was the Clutch Master Cyl. The JCW that they gave me for a loaner did the same exact same thing. All was fixed under warranty and I'v had no problems since.

Why do you think that JCW is "suspicious?"

That is indeed Challenge car graphics which more than likely came from here: http://www.aesthetic-creations.com/p...id_product=113

Kind of strange that some one would change the JCW exhaust out as many people with modded JCWs leave the exhaust alone.

I never had an issue with a clicking in the travel of the clutch pedal.

Two cars under-belly lit and one tiger tail hiding behind a bike rack at MITO this year. Keep looking, it'll give you one more thing to do.

My R52 was extremely suspicious once but I only pulled in to talk to a guy, not go thru the car wash.

There's a story there somewhere. Please elaborate...

Yea, the story was between a couple of old shipmates. Sea stories always begin with "This ain't no ####" and descend more or less from there into stuff like what happened to Jackson in that bar in Sasebo which precludes sharing it on a forum such as this for fear of getting tsk - tsked. Or worse.

Is there any name branding on Exhaust? Some dealers also sold the decal set.

Are you sure it is a Factory Jcw or is it a Cooper S with a Jcw kit?

Exhaust looks like factory Jcw.

That price is very low and well below dealer blackbook.

It doesn't seem like a JCW exhaust. there is no logo on it and it seems louder than a JCW I heard before.

it is an actual JCW Mini tho. Dealer said that it was a missprint; that's why it's so low. Unfortunately it was already out of my budget. I offered 20K OTD and they didn't take it.

Carfax also has noted that the exhaust was repaired at a muffler/brake shop by its first owner; seems like a custom job.
