WTF? No Coolant temp gauge? Yep.
BMW/Mini in they're ultimate wisdom doesn't believe we need a coolant gauge.(BMW the same) We only get an idiot light when things are about to go bad.
I'll have to give some thought to a Scangauge or the optional JCW gauge pod.
Other than that omission the car is a blast to drive! Great shifter. Nice clutch. Nice steering weight. Flat cornering. A nice sound from the motor as you rev up and down. I got the sport seats with black checkered pattern cloth and they are very comfortable. I pulled the rear headrests for better vision. Even the standard radio playing Siris isn't horrible. And it's Justa sipping gas! Need tinted windows in the southwest. A nice dark tint will make the Chili Red paint pop even more!

You're totally right. When we purchased we thought okay 8 weeks no big deal... now it already seems like forever!!! I'm checking out every mini I see driving by and parked on the street - it's agonizing!!

My family has gotten used to me yelling "MINI!!!!!!". They only slightly roll their eyes.

I think the next difficult part for me is when Mini Z makes it to Port Hueneme. I have to wait until it makes it's way to Portland and then wait for driving lights and window tint to be installed. The only day I could possibly make it up there for pick up would be Saturdays. I'm almost positive (Murphy's Law) it will be ready on Monday and I would have to wait!!

You guys are so right! I go to the Mini dealership on Sundays (just went today) so I can just look at them without talking to anyone! Like blbandit, I have about 2 weeks until I see mine. I count the Minis I see on the road. Even gave a Mini driver the thumbs up--she probably thought I was crazy as I was driving a Camry! Crazy!!

I checked the website:

http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/

And, the California Highway is anchored near Baltimore!!

Hopefully, it will leave on time and arrive in Brunswick as scheduled!!

Progress at last...a check of the Owner's Lounge this morning reveals my MINI has moved from "On Order" to "Scheduled for Production", woohoo! Somehow makes it seem more "real" once a VIN has been assigned.

Alright, I'm finally joining the support group for my first post. My wife and I ordered a BRGII MCCSa on 02.04.12 and it's scheduled to be shipped today according to the marinetraffic website. This has already been a long two weeks, how does everyone make it for the additional month that it will probably take from my Mini to reach the dealership? I just want to start driving it and modding it. But at least I know she's built.

Wow! Yours really moved along. I usually spend my time looking at mods I want to do. I have a small pile growing in my living room.

I did indeed, on 2.4.12! Mark the MA was likely quite glad to get us finally on the books, that was our third visit (two test drives and 45 quality minutes with Mini Connected). Nice to hear of another STL MINI on the way, and of progress being made!

Yes it did. I'm quite surprised considering the time frame of 10-12 weeks my dealer gave me. I've been looking at mods before I even ordered our clubman. I've got a list probably half a page long of upgrades and hope to start accumulating parts in the next few weeks. At least I do have something to keep me distracted for the time being. We'll see how long it last.

out of context

Using song lyrics out of context always works for me

"await your arrival
with simple survival"

Dan Fogelberg, "Part Of The Plan"

Counting down the days till the Fedora lands in Port Hueneme....

So I just checked the WW shipping website and the most recent status detail showed that it was 'returned to shipper'. Does this mean it went pack to the factory? I anticipated it saying that it was currently en route since it was suppose to ship yesterday, and the boat it's suppose to be on has left the dock as I've been tracking it since last night. Hopefully it's on the boat making its way over. This is all too nerve racking.

No it means that for some reason, the ship wasn't able to fit your car and it will most likely be on the next one.

If you look with in the last few pages you can see a few of us just went through that. It just means like hearthand said, the boat was too full. You'll more than likely make the next one.

Thanks for the reassurance. I've read quite a bit of this thread the last few days, but must have missed that part. I was just so excited that my car was actually on a boat. Guess I'll have to wait a little longer.

just got this pic from my MA. (she's awesome by the way) She has sent me pics of the internal MINI website showing the status of my build. MY car just went in for paint 2 days ago. BY estimated completion he should be done tomorrow.

For those who have cars due this week into Port Hueneme, CA, the Platinum Ray docked this AM. I expect some of our cars are driving off to the VDC as I post... I hope less than a week to delivery!
