"Those Waiting for a 2012" Support Group
MINI has us over a barrel--by the time our cars arrive we're so glad to have them we almost gladly pay full MSRP, I wish I had tried to negotiate when I ordered mine. As it is, I got it for $250 less than MSRP, the absolute worst "deal" ever! (Though the MINI interest rate soften that blow) I ordered my car on October 2, but didn't get the Motortober discount (I probably would have pressed on that one, but a funeral kept me from actually attending the test drive event). And while I technically took delivery on 12-2, I signed all the paperwork on 11-30. If I should have gotten 500 bucks off, I am gonna be one unhappy motorer.
I don't know if I mentioned this before
, but some pics would be nice...it would at least pacify me for a good 5-6 min. I need all the help I can get.
LOL Here I am. I have to tell you that the $500 rebate caught me by surprise too. One of the finance guys at Irvine MINI had mentioned it to me on the phone on Monday and I tried to find it online too and I couldn't. Last night when a different finance guy was doing all the paper work he deducted it from the total. So, it couldn't have been a mistake on the part of the first guy. You should definitely ask about it. In answer to someone elses question, I got it on top of the $750 Motor-tober and also on top of the discount I had negotiated with the dealer. And to top it all off the interest is lower for December than when I ordered it too! My total discounts amounted to a little over 7% of the MSRP. Now bad at all! The ride to work today was more fun than it has ever been! Still smiling and I've been here for about five hours now. Have I mentioned how much I love Spice Orange?
Hang in there you guys. It's definitely worth the wait. My wife and I are going to our first MINI events the weekend of the 17th and 18th - a breakfast get together/meet N greet on Saturday and a charity food drive on Sunday both sponsored by SCMM (Southern California MINIManiacs). This weekend will be spent doing mods and stuff.

Emotions in check? By the time my car actually arrived, there wasn't enough Valium in Beverly Hills to do that. LOL!
I did have that thought though...and was fully prepared to walk if I had gotten any surprises with the great interest rate changing or anything. I was prepared to pay MSRP, my dealer is the only one within 2 hours drive, and I think its good for the brand and resale value that big discounts arent typically given...but still, 500 here or there would have been nice!

It definitely appeared to be a MINI program of some sort. They did mention that it had to do with December.
I didn't get home from the dealer until well after dark last night and I'm at work for about 14 hours on Wednesdays. I will definitely get some posted up tomorrow. I wanted to post some that were absolutely stock, from the dealer shots so there's something to compare it to when I start doing stuff to car.
Sounds good, I haven't seen your color combo...I think it would look awesome! Is it a metallic orange?
Thanks...i look forward to the pics

Yes, I think you did mention something about pictures.

Is their anyone from the Torrens that hasn't already gotten their car besides me? I am happy for you though SFBayLaser
So you got the discount also? Did you have to ask for it?

Whew! I'm glad this was confirmed by someone else. I was starting to get worried that I was getting everyone all excited and maybe there was no formal rebate program. I still haven't seen anything about it on the MINI website or anywhere else online. I even heard a radio commercial today for SoCal MINI dealers and it didn't say anything about it either. Makes you wonder why they would keep such good news so quiet. I guess that's the one small catch, that you have to be financing or leasing it through MINI Credit.
It will, except the stripes...I took them off at the last minute so I could get some custom ones done just they way I want them. That is one of the things I am wondering if they caught.
So it should be Eclipse Grey body, Chili Red Roof (no sunroof) and mirrors, with black wheels, with the sport cloth seats, with painted dash/door ring in chili with every option beyond that except winter package.
Thanks in advance Purie

Your right...I'm just being paranoid, I will feel a lot better when I see pictures of my car.
Is the rebate only if you use Mini finance? I am not doing any financing and I am wondering if that rebate would not apply.

Yes, it appears that the rebate requires MINI financing.
Congrats! Glad to have someone to obsess with. We have two Countryman in-process. Today the 866 automated says mine is in the body shop est. completion 12/12. If correct, our All4 should go into paint tomorrow with completion 12/14 and hopefully they'll catch the same ship. I'm a little concerned...I ordered my car on a Monday, it went into production on a Monday, and is scheduled to be completed on a Monday.
Where's my car?
Comet was on the Torrens. I am still waiting for my car. But I am Colorado. So they have to truck it over the mountains. Yesterday the OL told me my car was at the VDC. It must be a long drive from the port.
My MA is gone for the week. But Monday he did say that there was an additional $500 off. No motor-tober for me. I had a $500 off incentive. Now there is another one. Not to proud to take it
. However, my MA told me I could have it and I am not financing my car. So ask about it even if you aren't financing.

I love the "ghostly" look of the black stripes on a dark car. Am trying to go for that same almost tone on tone look with the stripes on my Pepper white (polar beige stripes edged in black)
Wow! So exciting...Jack will be here before you know it. My baby should arrive at the dealer either today or tomorrow...so I'm in high suffering mode.....extreme suffering is probably a more accurate description. Sigh...........
