"Those Waiting for a 2012" Support Group
Don't worry folks! My wife already thinks I've lost my mind and my Mini hasn't even made it all the way through production yet (the 5th I'm told). Once it gets to transit time I'll be every bit as bad as anyone on these forums. Guess I should prep by studying the salt content of the ocean and tidal phases for the month of December now, Ha!
My nerves are raw. My car was released to the carrier by the VDC on Monday. It STILL hasn't shown up!! (We're only a few hours from Brunswick, apparently, its usually the same or next day when the car arrives at the dealer) Have the day off tomorrow and was looking forward to a twisty ride up my favorite road.
I contacted my MA and she says my car won't be on a ship before the middle of this month. wtf! Do ships only leave once a month? My baby is just sitting at the port...in the cold...getting poo'd on by birds...eating away at my clear coat.
What? I would guess the dealer would know where the car carrier is as there's lots of money tied up on that carrier, but maybe things are done differently now. My dad was a car dealer for 30 years and he used to keep close track of the carriers and when they were coming in....sometimes customers were waiting for their cars, like in your case, and sometimes they had transfer orders from other dealerships...still someone has to know where it is don't you think?
Bird poop is hard to get off sometimes...if your baby arrives like that I'm sure the dealer will buff it out and re-wax it. Hang tough. I know it's hard and it seems odd about the ship only leaving that one particular time in the month....maybe they have to wait for a certain number of cars before the cargo ship accepts a shipment?
When did you go into production? My MA called Monday morning and said my CM had entered production. Misery loves company...lol...maybe we can obsess together.

Danigurrl...dont sweat the bird poop. They get shipped with a heavy coat of protective wax that gets blasted off at the VDC.
And Hampsonna...I agree! They only carry eight cars. If each were going to a different dealership and mine were dead last it should STILL be here by now! (Talked to MA, NO trucks have arrived yet today, so maybe there is still hope)

I tried to post this link in answer to a question yesterday but that message was sent off to a moderator - and I guess I didn't make the grade. Apparently if I "quick reply" I'm not moderated...
Anyway, yesterday the Torrens was in an area where it could be tracked off Baja California Sur, until it got to Cedros Island and then out of range again. While I would have thought to have seen it again around Ensenada, the above link indicates its back in range just now and already outside of San Clemente Island, so making good progress towards Oxnard - I'd think there late tonight.
W&W site indicates my mini has its customs clearance!

I would bet that means "shipping liner", or the shipper.
I received my mini a few weeks ago but just stopped back in here for old times' sake, and to encourage everyone to hang in there. Your mini will be worth the wait. Tracking your mini is like temporary insanity, but was fun too!!
Best of luck to you all !
UTC = Universal Time Code, GMT = Grenwich Mean Time, and ZULU time are what time it is without daylight savings time in England.
So right now that is -8 to Pacific time.

"Holds 6,350 cars over 12 decks.". Good Lord that is a lot of cars. I talked to my dealer yesterday, and he mentioned that the Mini 's will be one of the first off the boat??...don't know how or why he would know that.
Since the Torrens is about 8-9hrs from port and I've been obsessively watching it's every move. So I've decided to do some research on my new favorite boat.

Fun Facts about the Torrens:
Made by Mitsubishi in '04
Holds 6,350 cars over 12 decks.
It's engine is the biggest thing I have ever seen. Makes around 19,000hp at 105rpm on diesel. And scoots along around 20mph.
Check this thing out

OK back to cars.

@Phx JCW - "I talked to my dealer yesterday, and he mentioned that the Mini 's will be one of the first off the boat??...don't know how or why he would know that."
