My MINI has arrived at the dealership and i will be picking it up Monday!!!! Yay!!!!

 

PHX JCW, hope they can get it to Phx faster then they can to Denver! It seems everyone is picking up their MINI but me.....

Actually I bought mine from Crevier in Santa Ana, so it doesn't have that far to go. But, I am going to arrange to have it trucked to me in PHX. So I will have a few more days to wait, I hope that makes you feel like you have some company

 

Does anyone know if there's a K-Line ship to Port Hueneme (West Coast) between now and 11/22? My car is at the dock and so is the ship, but my car isn't on it. I tried to look it up on the K-Line website but I'll be damned if I can figure out their schedule page. They would do well to take a close look at the WW website which is a snap to use.

I made it on to the Torrens!!!! I thing it was supposed to leave yesterday so maybe it's a little delayed but that was good news for me. My car made it to the port yesterday and got booked on the Torrens late last night and loaded this morning. I actually have two cars on that ship - the one the dealer ordered wrong and the one I'm going to buy.

 

Congrats. I don't know how you're staying sane with all the issues. Luckily my MA was just uncommunicative and put the order in correctly. I hope they are really nice to you when you go to pick up your correct car!

 

Hey, when I pick mine up, I'll get to see what it would have looked like without the black roof/mirrors and with black conical spokes instead of black star bullets. They should be on the same truck! The only reason I'm still sane is that there has been a good dose of good luck mixed in with the bad. Getting on the ship 9 days after the build started was incredible luck! The MA's mistake also allowed me to make some changes that had been bugging me like the HK and the wheels. These were the second and third cars I ordered. The first one is sitting on the dealer's lot 10 minutes away right now! It's been quite an adventure!

 

I was told by Ask Mini that my car went into production on 11/10 with a completion date of 11/18. What is the average time from end of production to making it onto a ship destination Baltimore? Is there an average time. The posts on the ordering process states it is dependent on the rail from the plant to the docks. Does the train have a schedule???

 

Mine made it on board in under a week, then a 3 week boat ride to Calif... 10 day later she still is not here, sigh...

 

Had to ask about your garage. Are you doing anything else to your garage in anticipation of your new Mini? I have been working on a garage project at my home in anticipation of my new car. I've been just trying to spruce up my garage and get it better organized. I want my EG/CR coupe to be well taken care of and to rest in a nice home!
I've been looking for some things to decorate the space. Some Mini wings, flag, art or something.

 

My MA sent me a birth announcement and photo of my Lightning Blue Convertible at the dealership tonight. It was an introduction for the two of us--

The announcement came at just the right time as I had just watched my 2008 Clubman drive away with its new owner. I cried although I didn't want to. It was the first time anyone but me had driven him. I loved that car more than any car I've ever had, but with the arrival of 2 new MINIs I couldn't justify having 4 cars. I will always love OTTO, but I know he has a wonderful new MINI person who will give him the attention and driving he deserves.

Sometime next week I'll get introduced to Mad Maxx in person.

 

To a great extent, of course, it depends on when the next ship leaves after your car gets to the port. That's less of an issue for Baltimore because there are more ships going there. It's 12 days between ships to the West Coast. I've tracked three cars through Oxford to the U.S, in the last 7 weeks (long story which I've posted about in other threads) and it seems to me that the trains between Oxford and Southampton pretty much run continuously. If someone knows exact how gthis does work I'd be interested in knowing. None of the three cars I've tracked has had any delay getting from the plant to the dock once it was completed. The last one (which is the one I'm actually going to take when it gets here) might have set some sort of record. After 10 days of being "scheduled with no confirmed production date", it went into production on 11/2 was finished on 11/10, got to Southampton that same day and was loaded on the Torrens late at night on the 10th or in the wee hours of the morning today (11/11 - I can't figure out the time difference between what shows up on marinetraffic.com and PST. It's probably GMT). The ship, with my car on it, is now heading out of the English Channel. Interestingly car #2 is on the same ship because it waited at the dock for 8 days. There's a lot of luck involved in this.

 

Have you checked the OL lately? Mine finally updated from "waiting for transport" to "at distribution center." And, I now have an estimated delivery date to the dealer: today!

I freaked out my daughter and dogs with the whoop, followed by the happy dance.

Hope yours is on the same truck.

 

I think we are both on Bob's truck! I am shooting for a Tuesday P/U... It's 60+ miles away.

 

Mine also updated to at VDC - MA informs me of a preliminary transportation pickup date of Monday, so could possibly be here as early as Wed. up to Sat.

Just purchased my wheel locks today as well as black surround/black UJ valve stem caps today!

 

I am picking up my MINI on Monday!!!! Whoop whoop!!!!
