From what I understand, it depends on how your vehicle is coded by your dealer. Mine was coded as a a priority one "sold" vehicle, so mine was off the ship, through the VDC and on a truck the same day
The NAM sticky suggests 2 days is typical at the VDC unless damage occurred during transit.
I'm picking up up mine later today. Not much work is getiing done this afternoon - I'm too excited to focus.
Happy Motoring! Post some pics. I'm going to take some decent ones this weekend.
Port Hueneme posts a schedule of ships with arrivals up to a month out. Helpful if you are getting close to a shipping date. Anything listed as carrying BMWs has the potential to carry MINIs (but not all do - lots more BMWs moving about.)

Question: Are all ships along the georgia and south carolina coast "blacked out"? For instance, CPeavely states above that the "california highway is scheduled to arrive in brunswick today". However, AIS indicates that ship is "out of range" so won't find it, and SailWx shows its position two days ago near washington. I am asking because I am wondering if I will even be able to track the Bishu Highway when it nears Brunswick next week. On the AIS map I don't find any ships in view in or around brunswick, when I am sure there are plenty of them.
Congrats F1! Mine should be in right before Thanksgiving. And I think I've found what I need to black out my ride. Now I'm REALLY eager for it to get here. Post pics when you can as I'm curious to see the Ice Blue.

Yes they are blocked but you can go to the marinetraffic.com and search the vessel name. When you get to the vessels page click on the Latitude / Longitude highlighted in red and it will take you to where the ship is when it gets close to the East coast. The California Highway is sitting at the Brunswick dock now but states it's out of range. Hope this helps.

Wait times?
I see many posts where it seems as if the mini was ordered and a few days later their mini is in production and they post will have car by such and such. I have called Ask Mini and all they tell me is my car is scheduled for production but they won't give me a date. (Ordered on 10/22) I read the sticky on ordering, followed the advice and still don't have any information. Can anyone tell me what I should be doing to get same facts and figures on when to expect my car?? Thanks...
Ask you dealer for info. If anyone has it, they do. Just be patient ^_^ Mine arrived a week or two early. Must have had good weather at see and no problems at the distribution center. Nice to be an hour a way from the port where they get unloaded.

It's been a blast to drive just doing errands today.

Picked up my today. Even the traffic on the drive home seemed better...
I picked up my Hampton Clubman S today at MINI of Des Moines. Those folks are consummate professionals and executed every part of the order and delivery process with precision that would make Swiss watchmakers look like a bunch of hacks.
I love this car. Not because it is nimble, fast and has a jammin' stereo system (HK!). Nope, I love it because it FEELS like it was designed by people who wanted to make me grin like an idiot while driving it....instead of just building a car that maximizes profit in a particular product segment. Nope, this car was built by car geeks, for car geeks. I'm in love.
