"Those Waiting for a 2012" Support Group
I spoke with my MA earlier and he told me Winston was at the dealership. Of course, I got out of work as soon as I could (ok so I couldn't wait to get out the door lol) and I went to the dealership and saw him! He looks awesome! I can't wait to see him cleaned up with his windows tinted. He's so beautiful! I'll post my iPhone pic later. Delivery Saturday 10am

I am trying very hard not to be pessimistic and am trying to stick to the belief that all the pain of waiting is forgotten once it arrives. It does help that we haven't had much top down friendly weather here yet, but if summer ever starts I might start pulling out my hair.

I'm realizing now that Support Groups are the way to go here. Being as apparently way ahead of the game, I think my support group is very small, but HEY maybe I'll make some friends.
Since I don't think there's a 2012 Support Group, I'll start one.
Not intending on it being a Support Group thread, I did post a note about 2012's currently (As of July 19th) being stuck in the VDC until August. You can find that here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...t-the-vdc.html
Feel free to chime in and keep me company. I'm so obsessed about this car right now, and my OCD has really showed the past almost two months.

So for those of you still waiting for your wonderful 2012, just know the wait is almost over, and you'll be motoring right along with the rest of us.
For those of you WITH your 2012, I hope you're enjoying it just as much as I've been enjoying mine.
BE MINI!
(ok that was cheesy
)

Just got a call from the dealership. They say it wasn't on the truck it was supposed to be on. (WTF?) now looks like it'll be delayed at least two days (stupid holiday) and maybe even until next week if I go ahead with the dealer options I've just about agreed to.
One step forward, two steps back,,, again.
Hmmm, I wonder if it got damaged in transport and they're covering it up?

He did say it might be off by a day or 2, but even if I don't get him until Saturday it's way sooner than I was expecting.
Hey, nice to see another stalker from Seattle area. I think the waiting is even harder once it arrives at the Port. Especially when you hear of a shipmate getting to see there's at the dealer. I'm hoping to be motoring this weekend in Hakwling since we may actually get a taste of Summer.
I would have gladly flown to the east coast or down to CA to drive it home. It kills me to see that the ship stops in Tacoma after dropping off in Port H. Of course with the weather we are having, I am really beginning to wonder if a Roadster was the right way to go.
BTW, I will be that person bundled up with the top down on a sunny winter day.Hope you and Hawkling will be out and about by this weekend!
My waiting was as agonizing as could be. The order had been placed over two months ago. I arrived at work and tossed my cellphone in my locker. As I walked away, it rang. I ignored it, forgetting that my car was due any day. On lunch break, I checked it. The dealer flooded my inbox, telling me Kazzie had arrived and was sitting in the lot. It was barely 11 a.m. and I wouldn't leave work until after 6, which was way after the dealer would be closed for the day. So I had to pick it up the following morning!
I got to the dealer at 9:30 p.m. because I couldn't believe the car had arrived. The night guard was nice and let me take a quick look at the car. The VIN matched! I thanked him profusely and left.It was a VERY long night.
And the day I picked her up, my check bounced!
Ugh. I finally sold my old car to Auto Nation and had my dad drive me back to the dealer with the extra money and the check. Kazzie was mine at last. So, it could be worse...

To be honest, for how many Minis are built and shipped all over the country, I'm amazed at how quickly our orders are coming through.
I would not panic or assume that just because you weren't on the truck you were hoping for, that it means your Mini was damaged.
I realize the waiting isn't easy, but you should really appreciate how efficient this system really is.
OMG!!! I just called Ask Mini and the automated system said my vehicle was at the port awaiting a shipping vessel!

Lol mine said the same thing and I SAW IT AT MY DEALERSHIP! I'm sure the MIA babies are ok? I hope so... There was one thing with Winston - the little cover on the front bumper was missing! The little round cover for 'I don't know what?' it's about the size of a silver dollar. Does anyone know what this is? I hope they find the missing cover before Saturday?
+1
I saw a bunch just off the truck that were like that - guessing that perhaps they use that location to secure them in transport ...

Finally brought Chumahue home. Only problem: due to newly installed tint, I'm not to operate any windows for 3-5 days! Are you kidding me?? This is San Diego -- we never shut out the weather here!
Oh well, it gave me a chance to test out the HK system during the ride home. Sweet.
