Yesterday I had a great girl answer the phone with Mini services but today this guy was absurd. He was such an *******. Do you know what the average time it will stay in "scheduled for production?"
The status will show "scheduled for production" from the time a production date is set, all the way through to when production ends. So it showing that status for a week is normal. Keep in mind, it can take 8-12 days to actually build your Mini. So it will remain in that status all through that build time.

Mine started production on the 6th, just based on estimates, I'd think it should be going to paint today or tomorrow. I'm trying my best not to call ask-mini to speak to a rep until tomorrow. Figured I "should" get some sort of a decent update then.

I just hate when I call and they say, "Well, I see you called yesterday, what did they tell you?" :D

I can tell you how long mine was... somewhere around 4/29 I saw mine go into schedule for production, then it was born 5/9... I'm not sure when it started it's journey on the production line... and the rest of the details are below in my signature. MINI pretty much know how many will go through the line on any given week... I'm sure it varies a little from week to week, but they should be able to give you a date.

The birth date of my MINI was the only real good information my MA was able to give me, because I pretty much knew everything a few days before he did thanks to this site and the information in the How to Track your MINI: Revised, Expanded and Updated sticky thread at the top of this forum.

First off +1 to what fatboy97 said.

Next is the wonderful person at ASK MINI you talked to that gave you a hard time, it's his *@#% job to answer questions when (OWNERS) call in to ask about their investments. It would be nice to know his name so you could call and ask for him 2 or 3 times a day. Sorry you had to deal with a child.

He said... "The status is still the same as when you called yesterday." but his tone was really like condescending and I snapped at him It happens haha.

LOL I should call every day and ask for him. His name was Tim. My reaction to his attitude was like this..

Me: Tim have you ever spent $50,000 dollars on a car before?
Tim: No.
Me: Well, maybe if you weren't so rude to people you would get promoted and then you could buy a car that costs as much money as mine and then you will call the company every day to find out when it was made because you're really excited about your awesome car.
Tim: I'm sorry if I have upset you.
Me: Well I do find your behavior absolutely cantankerous so saying sorry isn't going to really make it better.

Then I said thanks for the info and I hung up. SMH

I have to say, my heart really goes out to the Ask-Mini phone operators. How'd you like to have a job where the same people call 5 times a day asking for information on a car that isn't going to change that quickly?

The ones who are really helpful probably just started. The ones like above have probably been there a few months and are about to blow their brains out. :D

I hope I don't make anyone mad here.

charliesheena, this conversation is not something to be proud of. The words you said to him were WAY more condescending than his tone could possibly have been. Bragging about spending that much money on a car and putting him down shows poor character.

Wow, I can't believe we're on page 152 already; I think I joined this thread at page 120-something... OK, Punkin arrived at the dealership (Global Imports) late Monday afternoon (6/11; 34 days counting from order date, 5/9) and we picked it up (still can't decide if Punkin is a he or she; SUGGESTIONS and snide comments welcome) on Tuesday evening. I took pictures with iPod touch but they didn't turn out too good. Will post new pics this weekend, hopefully including some side-by-side comparisons with Flipper. :-)

Not having seen him/her I can't say 100%, but based just on the name I don't think you'd be doing Punkin any favors if it's a he.

That's funny, I saw "Punkin" and immediately thought boy. Do you find yourself saying he or she more often? What is Flipper?

I wasn't sure either, until I found myself saying "she's in production" "I hope she catches the first ship" etc. I didn't even realize it until someone pointed it out. Once I decided she was a "Pippa" she has taken on a whole personality.

Either way, I hope you and Punkin are having a good time.

My husband claims that all cars are female! I was kinda expecting a boy, but on second thought, between my hubby, son and male dog....maybe it's time to have another girl around here!!!

Hey Tely and Rejeme, does the OL still show that your MINIs are En Route? I'm hoping mine will confirm soon that mine is at the VDC.

Yep...still says "en route". Wasn't your port Charleston? Cali HWY is there today. I will send an email to my MA today to see if there is more news.

When mine finally arrived at the correct pier in Baltimore it was at least a full day before OL actually said in it was at VDC.

I was thinking my port was Brunswick, but I was never actually told which port, so that was just a guess. My MINI is coming to the Birmingham, Alabama dealership. Now that I'm comparing ports, it may very well be coming through the Charleston port... I'll have to dig a little more. I haven't emailed my MA in a while, so maybe I could find out from him.

Tely, I'm glad you questioned my port. I just found another Bham MINI order on the forum, and they stated that theirs came through Charleston. Good to know. I've been telling everyone that my MINI was in Brunswick! Oops.
