Love it. Congrats. I am glad everything went smoothly.

Very nice! Do you have any closeups of the carbon stubby? We are considering one too.

Here you go, the stubby is 3 1/8 inches tall, much smaller than the OEM wire whip!

MA just emailed me... told me my Coupe will be in Baltimore on 5/23... unfortunately I've known this since around 5/10... a day or two after my Mini came off the assembly line.

I guess I should have started here instead of posting my own comments in the general newbie section. What a great thread! We can all wait together. I've already talked to one or two of you, but I'm going to repeat part of my original post to state where I stand in the waiting process (at the beginning):

I have a new Cooper S Hardtop coming in about 8 weeks. Chile red, black top, sunroof, black leather seats, anthracite headliner, premium sound, bluetooth, automatic (sorry, I'm too much of a multi-tasker for a stick).

In the meantime, I'm planning several modifications to get it just how I like it: tinted windows and head/tail lights, black wheels with a red pinstripe, chrome deletion, red seatbelts and other red interior accents. I've found a lot of helpful information so far, and I'll do a little more research before I start asking questions. Thanks to all of the contributors!!

I think our MINI may be on Bishu Highway, if it's scheduled to pull into Brunswick on the 23rd. KLine took their schedule off the net, so not sure. Either way, only a couple more days for both of us.

Tombarra docked in NYC on the 20th as scheduled. A couple more days to get to CT, having hard time waiting.

Has anybody observed a status of "Returned to Shipper" on the WW website with their Vehicle?

I thought my car had made the same boat as my Wife's Mini Hardtop, the Asian Vision, but when I looked at both shipping records on the WW website.. her's shows Loaded on Vessel but mine is Returned to Shipper both on May 13th.

Would a car really sit at the port from the 13th until now? It's been 8 days. Damn and I already sold my 2008 Clubman.

Sorry to hear about that... it could have been picked up by a K-Line ship... I think you should check with your MA to find out what they know.

Good to see another Connecticut person on the same ship. I still have a hope that we will see our cars this week...but early next week is probably more realistic.

it's happened to me on the first ship that left port this month.
it showed up couple of days later (initially showed booked, received at terminal) as "returned to shipper"
it had to wait till the next one that left the port (since only WW was coming to NY/NJ) which was about 10 days i believe

Yup, Bishu Highway san is on her way to Brunswick, expected to reach 23rd morning. This means, sometime next week for us?

Do you know which your Mini is on? San Antonio, Dallas, not too far away, and depending upon the ship, it could very well be near the VDC. Good luck

OK...so I finally took the plunge and ordered my MCS yesterday. It's been a long process just to get to this point...I started a new job last October and now commute 55 mi each way to work. I decided that even though it's in excellent condition and actually gets me 23-24 mpg, my '00 Z28 wouldn't be long for this earth with all the miles I'm putting on it and the only car that could possibly fill my desire for better gas mileage, while still keeping me smiling while I cruise I-5 each day was a Mini. I finally test drove an MCS, a Justa and an MCS with a JCW tune and then spent the next 5 weeks trying to figure out what I could afford, what I could or couldn't live without...and above all else...what color I wanted it to be!

So here's what I finally settled on:

Model 12MB Cooper S Hardtop
Color 851 Chili Red paint
Upholstery FKE6 Rooster Red Leather/Carbon Black Cloth
Options 7HN John Cooper Works Package
2P8 17" alloy wheels, cross spoke challenge
3A1 John Cooper Works Aerodynamic Kit
5DT Dynamic Traction Control
1CA CO2 relevant vehicles
302 Anti-theft alarm system
329 Black bonnet stripes
383 Roof and mirror caps in black
3A2 Black headlight housings
473 Center armrest
4AA Anthracite headliner
4BA Color Line Rooster Red
522 Xenon headlights
5AA Rear fog lamp
674 harman/kardon premium sound
6ND Bluetooth and USB/iPod adapter
785 White turn-signal lights

So now I guess the waiting begins. My MA said he was able to pull an allocation and it was supposed to go into production in the next day or two, so hopefully I'll get an update soon. At least it's nice I knowing I'm not alone.

btw...his name will be Raphael.

You and I may be on the same time table. I just ordered mine on Friday, though I haven't actally received an order number yet. I'll have to bug them mid-week if I still haven't received one. Nice to have some company
