I would say that is not bad, as long as you feel like you scored a good deal that is all that matters.
I actually used truecar.com to find a dealer willing to sell me the car at $1000 above invoice, which ended up being about $2200 off.

Seems to me like the market you live in really dictates what is a "good deal." I bought my used 2006 with 30,000km on the clock for $16K CAD. Around here, that was a great deal (~$4k less than the same car with more KM on it at BMW/MINI.)
However, in some parts of the US it looks like I could have picked up a similar car for $10k or an R53 for like $12k.
Important thing is you are happy with the car and feel you got a fair price.

For comparison: Just about two weeks ago, I managed to get $1250 off MSRP, free Sport Package, free mats and .9% financing on my Clubman S. The car was on the lot and was precisely what I was looking for. This is upstate NY. I was pretty happy with the deal and very happy with the car.
