Newbie

Hi everyone. Just got our first mini the other day, and I must say I'm impressed. The wife and I had thought about it before, but when we saw them a local auto show a couple weeks ago we were hooked. We traded in the gas-guzzling SUV for a horizon blue metallic Cooper hardtop. Now we're fighting over who gets to drive it.

I have a question about the "sport" button. I know how it makes the car drive differently and I love it, but what exactly does it do to make the car react the way it does? Thanks in advance and I'm glad to be here.

By the way, I have a manual transmission.

I am wondering about the sport button, too. I have yet to notice a difference in the MINI's behavior.

I have noticed the steering is tighter and it seems I can jump off the line quicker, but I want to know how this system works

Sport button does a few things, it changes the throttle and steering maps equaling more rapid acceleration response and tighter steering. In an auto, it also adjusts shift points for quicker gear changes. The best part is the burble, though .

Well I don't have the s model, so I have to make my own burbling noises.

The burble is built in intentionally. I learned on my '06 how to control it, so could get a burble when I wanted, but knew how to be "stealth" at other times. On my '11, if the sport button isn't activated then no burble(at least as of yet). I played with it the other day and figured out where the burble is on Mozart. So happy to have it back!

Burble Question....

I know the Burble is back and that the Sport Button must be engaged for the Burble to occur. Is it just on the "S" or does the 11 Justa have the Burble also?

I know this is an old thread but my justa coupe burbles like crazy! I am noticing it more as the miles build up on her. I'm hoping to hear a pop one day but I doubt it will happen. :(

My 2007 was not a s model but it had the sports button. Loved it for the Kansas turnpike and other merge on into the left hand lane locations.
