price of a 2011 mini

how much of a price difference can i watch for? also, does anyone know or have an idea about any incentives or programs for the upcoming 2011?

since i have to wait a few months to buy a mini, when does anyone think is a good time? nov-dec? jan-march when everything is "dead"?

thanks!

It all depends on what the specials that month are, whether you find a car on the the lot or are set on ordering, etc. The base price on a 2011 went up like $750 but you get satellite radio+hd radio, which used to cost $500 each. The only deals currently out there are to clear out the 2010 inventory, so I figure you're probably right on needing to wait until at least the winter (january/february). I didn't see any deals on ordered cars until a few months ago, and that was just before the refresh, so the wait could be a while. You will probably be able to find a finance deal if that's helpful though.

Deals were being made on ordered cars as long ago as April. I received $1K off $22.6k msrp plus 1.9% financing. All it took was asking in an email.

You have to watch and wait. Knowing in advance what deals MINI may offer is a guessing game so if you see some thing that sounds good go for it, or wait and see if it gets better. It's always a gamble.

now i have morristown and mahwah calling to possibly cut a deal.

morristown wants to give my altima an appraisal (which i already know will not appraise well); waiting for mahwah to get back to me with numbers.

who knows?

i always wanted a mustang, always felt unaffordable, now i drive a mini and need to have it!

ironically, i have found that both are actually affordable, but mini is more fun, and a better commuting car (40 mi per day).

does anyone disagree that mini is a more practical commuting car than a mustang?

The reasons I can come up with to go with the Mustang over the MINI:

1. If top speed and power are your thing.
2. If you will have any need of transporting anyone that's a teenager or older in the back seat.
3. If the thoughts of maintenance costs post warranty are a concern.
4. You prefer to 'buy American'.

Otherwise, the MINI is probably a more practical car as a commuter. Far better gas mileage, superior handling, a much higher fun-factor. Plus, going with an S or JCW will narrow the gap on speed/power, a Clubman (or Countryman if you are willing to wait a bit longer) would solve the size issues I mentioned.

Deals on ordered cars? On a 2011 JCW they offered FREE Xenon headlights including the Adaptives. $600, then offered another $1000 off MSRP. Yes, I ordered the car.

2011 Midnight Black JCW with Chili Red roof and mirrors, Cold Pak, H&K, ect

Ordered: 09/08/2010.......no production date yet

I've been trying to work with my local dealer to pick up a 2010 Clubman S that's been on the lot for 10 months, and they won't budge off sticker. They added sport stripes (which I'm indifferent about) and are saying that they were $607, but they'll give 'em for free...but only at sticker.

Sales manager did share that they're offering 3.9% financing on 2011's right now, tho. So that may work for some.

i am going sat. to morristown to get my altima appraised, and see if the dealership will buy it out, or now.

what should i expect? odds are that they will not want the altima because there's more owed than what the book value says.

which brings me back to square one: incorporate lease payments and enjoy the mini, or wait a few more months where i will be closer to end of lease, but closer to going over the mileage, which will make me possibly already there.
