Anybody know what the lights are for next to the reverse lights in the rear bumper?
Thanks
I think the red rear bumper lights are for a rear fog light. They're mandated in Europe, and I think are optional equipment in the US.
I guess MINI was nice enough to leave the red lenses there even if you didn't actually opt for the bulbs?

250 miles on already since bringing it home Wednesday. Freaking brilliant car.

The only regrets so far:
- Not opting for the sunroof and anthracite headliner
- Gas mileage has been 22-24 (on the bright side, nobody has been able to pass me yet )

Mods planned in the next few months:
- Window tint
- Stubby antenna
- Front and back badge holders
- Black JCW side markers
- Black driving lights (the $500 MINI ones).. DIY install
- DoS intake
- Helix intercooler
- Re-program ECU
- JCW carbon fiber mirror caps
- Chrome interior kit
- Craven gauge kit with boost and oil pressure

Good luck to everyone else still waiting

Thanks Neil just what I thought. Mines has the bulbs in there already. Maybe I can get it going with a switch. Actually I'll let my tint/stereo installer buddy figure it out LOL.

Nice ride BTW!

Looks great, Neil!! Enjoy and keep the pics coming once you start the mods.

You're really going to do the driving lights? I'd need Electrical for Dummies....

Yep, couldn't see paying the dealer another $500 to do it for me. IMO, the electric stuff is the easy part
I say go for it, if you have any questions, you have all of NAM including myself to help you out.

This is true. I'll be anxious to hear how it goes. I think window tint is #1 on our list.

I got the same quote. Have you bought them yet? Just wondering if the instructions are helpful.

BTW, love your car. My All4 is pretty similar.

I still have to research the tinting before I go through with it. My local tinting place is offering either metallic or ceramic, I haven't yet even googled the ceramic stuff to see if it's worth a damn.

Haven't bought the lights yet, but plan to pick them up from OutMotoring.com. I will probably throw out the instructions. Normally they come on with the high-beams or something like that, I want to buy a MINI OEM toggle switch (to go just left of the passenger window toggle in the empty location). There was a guy who did something similar on a NAM thread a while back. He went to the dealer and had the shop-tech re-program the control software to get it working (the switch is actually a pushbutton which goes to a relay output, I believe for the rear fog-lights). I'll probably skip all that and make a custom circuit board with a latching relay controller.

Thanks... All the girls around town I keep running into keep giving me compliments on it Today in the drive-through, I pull up and hear "Oh my god, your car is from London or something, that is so hot!!!" I almost busted out laughing
