Do Minis and Ice Hockey Mix Well?

Hey all.

I'm wondering if two hockey gear bags and a couple of hockey sticks can fit in today's MC/MCS.

I hope so and need to hear from someone that's either done this or tried. I'm coming back to Mini as long this will work without introducing a hacksaw into the picture.

FWIW: My hockey sticks are about 60-61" long if anyone has a tape measure and a late model Mini close at hand.

Yeah, you'll be ok. I have a '10 MCS ... I play twice a week and have no problems with my gear. I've carpooled with my buddy and both our stuff fits. You do have to put the seats down of course, and run the sticks from the back across the armrest down to the passenger side floor. I ended up taking my back seat out so I have plenty of extra room now.

Now, a goalie gear bag might be a bit more challenging, but I'm guessing it'd still fit.

Funny ... I was worried about the same thing when ordering my MCS, but since I was also getting a roof rack, I figured that was my backup plan. Luckily I don't need it for my hockey gear.

Thanks! I guess that settles it then. No goalie gear here. The seats won't be coming out either as I might actually have to have someone ride back there some day.

While I've never loaded goalie gear into my MINI, I do have a goalie bag that I use for my armor (I perform and fight at a few different renaissance festivals). With the seat folded down, it fits easily into the back with plenty of room to spare.

Sounds like the hockey gear will fit OK, good luck.

Zambonies are better on ice, though

Minis are much more fun on the ice than a Zamboni! With the right studless snow tires you could run circles around one too.

I regularly have two bags and 4 sticks in my MCS. The rear seats are folded forward, but they fit.

I can fit one bag and 2 sticks without folding the seat.

Thanks Mike. Do you have the center arm rest? Just curious, and my car most likely won't have it.
