New to NAM
Goodmorning, 1st post.
First of all, I do not own a Mini, but I hope to rectify this in the next couple of weeks. I've been poking around the forums for the last couple of days, and am amazed at all the info.
Agains't my better judgement I am considering an S model hardtop,( it's amazing how an 18 year old brain works in an old geezer) but I know a standard Cooper would make more sense.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and hope to meet some of you in the future.

Go for the Manual S!!
Maugre,
I am new to the forum myself! Very excited to see all the posts and forums!
I took advantage of the 1.9% financing and free package and bought my MCS on Saturday. Black, with white side caps and roof. Just had the dealership install the rally lights and the car is looking great. Could not haggle the price at all but was able to get a free armrest, rubber mats and a rubber mat for the boot.
I have driven both the automatic and manual, and after driving the automatic deemed it to be pointless, so went with the manual, despite living in a city with major traffic congestion.
You shoud definitely go for the manual S. You only live once!

Thanks for the replys Seraph & jt.
I don't belong to many forums, but it's fun to get input from others and get pointed in the right directions.
Common sense aside, a turbo and a crashbox is what it is going to be. As to color, we'll just have to see what's available. I'm not that picky, but I do know that some colors are more aerodynamic than others

I'm still waiting for mine as well, but I can agree with the other posts that the manual is certainly the way to go given how good the gearbox is (and that's coming from somone regularly dealing with NYC traffic). There also seems to be a shortage of autos out there, but as you said you're not picky, it might not be that difficult to locate one with the options you may want.
Best of luck in the search and you're definitely looking at a good time considering it's close to the end of the model year.

IMHO i have always thought Just-a-coopers are unattractive, and i also LOVE the sound of the supercharger. But yes as everyone else has said get what you want. You will be the one driving it, make sure you will enjoy it.
and Welcome!
