Impatiently Waiting for New Mini

New Member Alert!

So my new MINI 2010 Hardtop is being held hostage at the VDC in NJ for a week. It arrived on the Fedora last Wednesday morning, the 11th. All I can think of the Season Two of The Wire, which deals with the docks and union workers. They loose it on purpose in the stacks and somebody has to bribe somebody to get it.

This is pure torture, since I live in Jersey, the dealership is in Jersey.

I went with Racing Green, Black Top, Automatic, Winter Package, Sound System, Union Jack on the scuttles.

So anybody know who I can bribe?

I just had mine come through the NJ VDC recently... it was there for a week, then delivered to the dealer (also in IN), so it should be any time now.

Hang in there!

When you finally get to see it, touch it, drive it....you'll forget all about the painful wait. Good luck, keep us posted, and post some pics when you get a chance. Congrats & welcome to the MINI family.

Trust me, the waiting is terrible. Ordered on 4/9 (almost 10 weeks ago), arrived in US 5/19 (4 weeks ago), still waiting......

Well, I find it silly it takes longer to move the car 50 miles to the dealership, then the 3,500 miles across the Atlantic Ocean. You would think Mini would want to get the cars into their owners hand so that they can get there $$$$.

I think we've got all the Jersey stereotypes, missing Springsteen references.

I would rather call on Omar from The Wire. "You mistake me for a man who repeats himself."

To all who have been experiencing LONG delays with the VDC.....ours has been there (Baltimore, MD) since May 25th. Dealer indicated that he had 12 cars there (6 custom.....6 regular inventory) waiting to be trucked up to Dublin, OH. Still waiting.
I did see a few other boards which mentioned something about emissions testing procedures and how that can really delay the lot. You'd think they would have that in order by now.

Yes, picked it up. It's a whole new driving experience, having a driven a crappy chevy cavalier 98 for 12 years. it's like Morgan Freeman in Shawshank, don't know what to do with myself after I leave prison. I just drove to the dealership to my home. Then yesterday, stretched its legs out on the NJ Turnpike. Still trying to figure out the wipers and daytime running lights. I put in some Blur and Stereolab to amp up the HK sound system
