Thought I'd jump right in.

I finally got my first Mini yesterday. It's an '06 S with sport suspention and limited slip diff. Not much else really, wich I like. I am in Greenville, SC just south of the BMW plant. Plan on auto-x and some track time, but just going to enjoy it for a while first. Can't wait to become familiar with everything about these cars. Love to do all my own mechanic work, so whats the best shop manual to buy? Thanks!

Welcome to NAM and congrats on your Mini. I like the chilton manuals myself but do a google search and see what kind of manuals are out there. Most of all enjoy your coop and have fun!

Thanks, also, I am having a hard time getting the spark plug wire boots off. Is there a trick or just brute force?

easy on the brute but you do need force. If you are checking the plugs be sure not to break them off removing or over tighten on install.

Just give them a little twist before the brute force. And yes make sure you torque the spark plugs to specs. I like the Bentley Manual myself. Good Luck with the MINI it looks like a good one!

Welcome, congrats on your car.

I'd say the Bentley Manual is the best. But if you end up needing more help My tech Matt that works for me on weekends attends Clemson so he can help you if you get in a jam.

Thanks all. I will find the Bently manual asap. Put my 6Ul w/ 205/50/15 Ecsta SX's on and the car looks and handles them very well.

Dude... Very nice. I also love the planes you have back there. My buddy has a bunch of them and they are a blast to fly. Almost as much fun as "flying" around in the Mini. Very nice though. Keep the pics coming!!

How many sets of wheels do you own? I've counted three sets so far.

I have a fetish for wheels!!! Actually, one set is my track day set from the Miata, the other two came w/ the car.
