New 2010 Mini Clubman owner in FL/CA

Hey everyone,
So I just picked up a pepper white 2010 Mini Cooper Clubman last week. Great car and I'm loving it!

But I'm kinda having some remorse in a way (not entirely). I've been inquiring with dealerships about 2009 Minis (since the year end is a good time to get cars for invoice prices). Not many dealerships had many 2009's left, especially any base models. Just cars with lots of options and packages (which made it expensive obviously)

So I've ALWAYS wanted the type S model, since I've always loved performance sport cars. But being a college student I really couldn't be looking to have luxury options. I've learned to be more humble and cautious with my spending.... I walked into a dealership with the intention of getting a base model 2009 Mini hardtop. Somehow I ended up getting a 2010 Mini clubman on the Mini select finance program! Haha. I guess I just got so wrapped up in getting a Mini that I lost sight of my original goal....

Either way, I love the clubman. I ended up getting a base model with a few small add ons (center armrest, roof rack and clear rear turn signals) for $20,500..... not too bad of a price. But I just realized that I probably couldve picked up a 2009 Mini Cooper type S for the same price!

So anyone wanna comment? Thanks guys and I look forward to learning more about my new Mini!

Enjoy and don't let buyer's remorse take the polish off of the fun of owning your new MINI ownership. There will always be the "better deal" that comes along. I got my built to order MCS convertible in June and a friend bought a new 2009 John Cooper works convertible in November for about what I paid for an S!!! BUT, I have had 6 months of motoring fun.

Happy Motoring!!

I don't think you could have gotten a '09 S for $20,500 unless it had 20K on it. I think you made agood deal, be happy

Like others have said - there will always be a better deal - even if you think you find the perfect deal - another will crop up. Just be happy and start motoring! Congrats and welcome

Thanks for the comments guys

I do love my clubby, and I still can't believe I actually got one! My only challenge now is NOT to get carried away with the mods

The other challange will be avioding tickets. The MINI always wants to play and I have to keep an eye on the pizza pan sized speedometer as I am often moving faster than I realize.

Well, I'm totally loving my Clubby!!!

Today I'm supposed to have it shipped to LA where I'm moving to finish up my schooling.... I've never shipped a car and I'm really nervous!

This is a BRAND SPANKING new car and I just hope nothing bad happens (scratches, dents, or even having it stolen!!! )

Total I'm paying $700 to ship it from Tampa, FL to Los Angeles, CA....... I'm almost wanting to kick a little cash to the driver today when he picks it up just to motivate him to take care of it......
