Hi folks, Kunishi here. Joined NAM a couple days ago and from the limited time i've spent browsing the forum, I've already picked up alot of useful information!

The country's first mini dealership will open in a few months time and if everything goes as planned (aka: budget) --- my mini may be part of the very first batch of cars to arrive in Manila before the year ends!!!

I hope I survive the wait!

The only thing that worries me are the poor Mini Coopers in Manila traffic

You got that right DrewN, Metro Manila traffic is an absolute pain in the butt!! Looks like i'm gonna be doing alot of 5am drives just to stretch the legs of the mini!!!

 

When I visited family over there maybe 12 years ago I fondly remember one of my aunties driving a really small car, I wish i remembered if it was a classic Mini or a Fiat, but it was a vintage 70s model, yellow and very tiny, with a stick no less. I remember being in the car with her and she deftly weaving in and out of that crazy traffic, upshifting, downshifting, rev-matching a couple of downshifts (no heel toe though). I swear she could have given Jason Bourne a run for his money. She was so awesome with it.

It was definitely one of those moments that shaped my perceptions of small cars and why I own a Mini today . Thinking about that now you could have some real fun with a MINI in Manila!

 

Welcome Kunishi...sounds like you're going to have a BLAST with your new MINI. Definitely take pics. of construction and finished product of the New Dealership, it would be great to see what Manilla offers!! AND of your MINI when he/she arrives!!
