No, the customer relations rep couldn't even find any info on the status. I don't know if their system was down or something but after 5 min of trying she said "I guess your car is at the point where we can't track it anymore." So I called the automated system and it said its in transit.

I do believe we're on the "K" Line ship "Sierra Nevada Highway". It actually departed Southampton on the 11th, and last report on: http://www.sailwx.info/ it was rounding the Isle of Wight. Call sign is 3EIO4

Hooray, it's a girl! My MINI Cooper S was born yesterday! She's now waiting at the dock for the Morning Caroline to take her over to Port Hueneme. The waiting continues...

Sweet, congrats! Looks like you'll sail in 3 days, great timing! Thought I'd be on the MC too, but I got to catch an earlier boat.

I got my "MINI Parking Only" stencil in the mail yesterday! I"m not going to use it, but it helps build the excitement while waiting for the car to arrive!

Also looks like the configurator hasn't changed over to 2010 models yet, but I heard it was supposed to happen today. Hopefully soon -- I'm curious to see if the rumors about the price are true!

As y'all know...I abandoned my mini at the factory. It was born and sent to the port and loaded on a ship since the last time I checked on it. I feel like I've given it up for adoption. I wonder who will get to enjoy what was going to be my MINI minus the HK?

Happy Motoring little fella, whereever you end up.

I'm headed back to visit with my MA to reorder another MINI on Thursday this time with the HK and Xenons, and all season tires. Everything else will be the same. They claim week 42 will have HK. Who knows.

Cool, we're on the same boat. Southampton pickup 9/17, arrives PH 10/7.

As you probably know, it is a three week journey to Port Hueneme. It can take up to two or three days for your car to be processed by the VDC, and then it just a matter of waiting for the transport truck to take it to the dealer. The dealer will need a day or two to get it ready for you - longer if you add a bunch of dealer installed accessories.

My MINI (Week 34) just now arrived at Port Hueneme (on the Porgy) - I have been spending the last hour watching the Porgy pull into the harbor and turn around so she can unload. They will start unloading her cargo at 6 am tomorrow (Friday) morning. My car was one of the last seven cars loaded at Southampton on August 28th, so it will be the first off the ship and, hopefully, the first to go into the VDC. My hope is to have her processed and loaded on a truck by Saturday. The Port Hueneme VDC rarely, if ever, operates on a Sunday, but does operate on Saturdays if there is a backlog - or if there are a lot of Priority One cars (meaning cars already sold to a customer) to be processed.

Hey - The owners lounge is now indicating that my mini is "en route" (an update from yesterday). Anyone know what ship it's on and its expected arrival time on the East Coast?

depends which east coast port it's going to. Check them out in this stickied thread--

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d-updated.html

Then if it's a WW ship, look at their schedule here

I was able to find my vessel's location by entering the name at http://www.marinetraffic.com

looks like she doesn't report position frequently. either that or she is victim of a rogue wave or giant octopus attack

Any update from you MAs about the 2010 purchase price? It looks like the 2010 configurator still isn't up yet on MINIUSA.com.

I contacted MINI regarding the 2010 configurator and this was their response:

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for writing MINI. We appreciate your interest in our vehicles.

We are currently working on updating the website and 2010 model information should be available in October. I hope this is helpful to you.

If there are further questions I can assist with, please feel free to drop me an e-mail. I would be happy to lend a hand.

LET'S MOTOR.

Well, seems this transport thing has become VERY confusing to both me and my MA....

My CR 2010 apparently left Southampton on Sept 9th, but no one could tell me which ship it is on. 2 days ago, I wrote my MA an email asking him to try finding out what ship it's on.

He writes back telling me he's confused, his system was showing my car on dry land in Cali as of Sept 17th. I call him, and we discuss the issue of it not being possible due to travel time. Either that or the system is completely whack!

Last night I do some more searching, and find my car through WW as being on the Faust, with a final discharge location of Galveston TX on Sept 25th...Galveston???? My car is coming to Colorado for crying out loud, thought it was supposed to go through the VDC at PH???? Galveston doesn't even have a VDC for Mini.

I write an email of this finding to my MA last night, inquiring WTFO???? He writes back saying he's completely confused now and has a call into a Mini Rep, because his system is now showing my car was discharged to dry land in NJ yesterday???? What is this anyway? I feel I'm playing "Where's Waldo?"

Personally, I think my car is already showing signs of cockyness and defiance...must be the red roof. I have these visions of my car flipping everyone off in Southampton, and saying "FU *******....I'll get there when I get there...try to find me, but in the meantime I'm gonna enjoy the cruise with a little umbrella in my drink!"

My Mini hit the port in Charleston and is headed to Greenville (BMW) distribution center which is weird because I thought Charleston was the distribution center. Anyway, my MA said I should get my Mini next week unless they hold it to process all the 2009's through the center.

Bah, now I really need my MINI to get here ASAP! Yesterday while driving from San Francisco to San Jose, my current car (a 2002 Saturn SC2) finally died. She went out in a blaze of glory. Instead of just konking out, my car decided to implode. The engine not only stopped working while going over 65 on the highway, but started dumping engine pieces all over the highway! There was a giant plume of white smoke behind us as we coasted off to the shoulder, still dropping engine parts on the shoulder. (The only part we could identify was a totally bent out of shape cam shaft.) Anyway, so now I have no car and my current disabled vehicle is going to be donated to charity. Come on, Morning Caroline!!!

That's great! You'll have to post up some pictures when you get it! Mine's on the way to Galveston now...still don't get that part. After landing in Galveston, I have no idea where it's going....I'm assuming by rail or truck to PH, then backtrack eastbound again to Colorado. It's weird....

What the...???? Were you redlining the thing? I would've loved to seen a Saturn scatter it's engine like that!
