Ahhhh they didn't have some stupid part they need (frame plug or some nonsense) to complete the pre-delivery inspection so I gotta wait until tomorrow. Cruel. At least I get some freebie dealer accessory, just need to pick something.

No there was still some 2009s that came in Astro Black. There were also some 09 Lighting Blues too... I need to check my build date to see if its an early 09 model since its an Astro..

I was looking over my contract tonight and it looks like I actually negotiated about $2,000 off the MSRP! But I found out the car I got was sitting on their lot since last November! No wonder they were so eager to get rid of it!

Astro Black went away in Jan 09, I personally like it. I am glad you got a car, even if it wasn't the one you ordered. Sounds to me you did better anyway.

Absolutely in love with this thing! I don't think I've ever liked a car as much as I do this one, and I've owned a lot of cars!

Here's a couple of "first" pics I just snapped in the garage. I gotta get my Rota RBs and tires back on. I had em on for a day and it looked badass! But I became very concerned with only having 1.5mm of clearance between the front calipers and the wheel spokes. Not wanting to make a mistake, I took them off til I could sort it out. Mach V Dan, who sees the Rotas here, says it's perfectly fine and nothing to worry about.

So as soon as I get them back on, and for good, I'll post some more pics, better ones too!

Pat

Tennis Ball

I had the same parking assist back when I garaged my big Silverado. You need to drop that trick now that your ride could almost post circles inside your garage.

You don't seem to be in a hurry to paint the walls, so as you park, just look to the left for a mark to line up with. I've been doing that, after taking the ball down - no more cares about bumping into the ball while walking around when the vehicle isn't there. Just a thought.

BTW, verrrry sharp red MINI you have there! I just ordered my mine; hope to be a legal member of the club here before Thanksgiving.

Yea, the ole ball...it's actually a very soft foamy ball. But it's not there to keep me from running into stuff, got plenty of room for that. It's actually there to make sure I'm centered or shifted left of center to keep it from getting hit by the door of my 4Runner, and to make sure I'm far enough back so when my daughter opens a refrigerator door in front of my car, the bumper doesn't get hit.

I'm considering a laser park guide....but I like a target in front of me as I come flying in.

Got mine today. I've been driving around like a fool for the last 4 hours with a big stupid grin on. Here's a bad pic from my blackberry--

Dealer gave me a car cover, rubber floor mats, and wheel locks.

It's doing one weird thing, if I apply any up pressure on the stick while shifting into reverse the whole **** seems to become disconnected. It moves upward quite a bit. Is this normal??? I don't see how it can be.

Other than that it is totally fun to drive and I really love it.

I also took delivery today and my car got a little christening from some rain on the way home. I had a great experience at the dealer! I came in with good financing (5.19%) that they couldn't beat, but since my credit score is over 800, they shopped for a better rate for me and got me 4.9% through Chase. Sweet! I also got complimentary rubber floor mats in the front, rear and boot, although I expected to have to pay for them. I saw two MINIs on my drive home but they didn't wave back to me. I'm enjoying the car so far, but trying to digest the owner's manual tonight before I hit the road tomorrow so I can sort out the nav system. I'm sooooo happy so far though! I finally got my dream car! Yay!

Sonero, I think the BofA loan was for 36 months max, but I don't remember exactly. I financed for 60 months and didn't qualify. I put a huge chunk of money down....basically financed all of my optioins and goodies.

Your guyses(is that a word?) MINIs look great! I wish mine had the white turn signals. It was an option I had ordered and really liked, but the one I got off the lot didn't have 'em.

I got my web spokes on today and the car looks perfect! Unfortunately didn't have time to snap pics before dark. And it looks like its gonna rain the next few days.. They JUST detailed it today

We're having rain the next couple of days too. Thankfully I have a garage at home, park in covered parking at work, and my office is only 7 miles away.

pennysfbay and Yossarian, glad to see you got your cars! They are so much damn fun, I don't think I've ever enjoyed a car this much.

Must be some happy folks too, getting free stuff from your dealer. The only thing I got was a monthly payment and complimentary cup of coffee while I waited.

I've heard Schomp Mini were a bunch of stiffs, but this was incredible. Guess I shouldn't look a given horse in the mouth, the cup of coffee probably had a retail value of 25 cents...

Oh well, I love my car and expected to pay for everything...which I did. just glad I finally have it!

Here's a pic I finally got around to snapping. Turned out mine was the first 2010 in Colorado, and the only 2010 delivered on the load.

I just found out MINI now has 3.9% APR for 60 months on the 2010 hardtops. I could have gotton my 2010 build if I waited 2 more weeks!

Hope you aren't too upset. Your car looks awesome and you went with the info you had at the time. No regrets!

Haha yeah, I'm completely over it now. I thought about it and I'm completely happy with my car. I just got annoyed that this came out now. No regrets!

K3vin, how exciting and what a strange turn of events! Did you get the color you wanted too? I was able to negotiate $1000 off MSRP for my 2010, but I'm sure I could get a better deal picking something up off the lot. What keeps me from doing that is I really want to Nav system, and they don't usually order cars with that option since it's so expensive and not as popular for most who are shopping the lot. Anyway, post pics when you can, but don't let the picture taking get in the way of your motoring! Have fun with the new ride!
Congrats!!! and WOW... you got $1000 off MSRP for your 2010 MINI? I went to one of the Orange County's MINI dealer ship and I tried to get any discounts when I ordered my wife's MINI (even I am returning customer) there is no discount at all for 2010 MINI . I think it's too late to get any discount once I ordered it...

Its not too late. You can try to work a deal when you go to buy the car. Which dealer did you order from?
