Hey Guys - sorry I'm late for the Elektra release party. Had to check for myself and loved seeing that my baby was discharged! Woo Hoo!

 

Week 34 group says goodbye to the Elektra. Thank you for keeping our friends safe on their voyage across the Atlantic. We will miss you.

 

Wow... amateurs in the Week 36 thread. A couple of them are on a boat, and don't know which one!

No offense intended.... it's just quite the opposite of some of us here by comparison. My wife says I'M the one with the OCD problem.

Well, it is 2am here on the west coast. I woke up for no reason, so here I am. Today will be a special day. Neverfifty will be the first in our group to pick up the car from the dealer. I can't wait to hear how that goes. I am so excited for her. Hopefully she can post up some pictures.


I got to thinking our group is not exactly a Week 34 group. We have people from like week 31 (Neverfifty, N666BK, Rederik) all the way to like week 36 (Y2K Falcon, DashHouston). We are on four ships (Undine, Elektra, Porgy, and Faust) That two week production stop allowed us to do our research and allowed us to bond as a group.

 

Congrats to Neverfifty on getting your car today! I know how excited you must be.

I'm pretty sure that I'll probably be one of the last in our group to actually pick-up their car from the dealer if I have to wait until my vacation is over. I hope that you'll all still be around for me to share my excitement with.

So I don't want to like, sound horrible or anything. I mean, on the 11th I was in Brooklyn and saw things happen. But now the 11th has another significance for me. So at least there is just a little bit of positive to what in my memory is incredibly negative.

 

Silly Meg, of course we will be around to celebrate with you and share your excitement.

I'll be riding in my friend's Smurfmobile for the first time on 10/13 when I have an 8 hour layover in Los Angeles on my way back from visiting my sister in Boston. She will call in sick from work to pick me up from the airport and have lunch with me. After that I will install magnetic badge holders, a special license plate holder, and a Hello Kitty decal on her car. Hopefully there will still be people around here to view the pictures when I post them.

 

I'll still be here, I mean, I'd love to meet my little guy's brothers and sisters!

 

Maui Meg - This was posted on the "Inside the Port Hueneme VDC" thread.

"On Saturday January 24th, the Los Angeles Chapter of the BMWCCA toured the BMW Vehicle Distribution at Port Hueneme in Oxnard, California (approximately one hour West of L.A., just off the Pacific Coast Highway). There are similar BMW facilities in New Jersey and South Carolina that serve the East Coast.

The VDC was up and running even though it was Saturday. Our tour guide, Eric, stated that they normally worked 7AM to 4PM M-F, but worked Saturdays when there was high demand for "Priority One" vehicles (Priority One is a car that is already sold)."

Hopefully the Saturday rule applies to your VDC as well.

 

Absolutely! We've been going through MINI Lamaze together, still need to share baby pictures and "firsts".

 

MA tells me my MINI should be at the dealership by Monday or Tuesday! I have my check made out, burning a hole in my wallet. Although I was originally going to wait and pick it up on Saturday the 19th, do you think I will? hell no! As soon as I get the word, I'll be catching the next train and readying myself for my first drive home!

 

Holy cow, already!? And you're getting stuff done at the VDC too I see. Makes me excited!

Well I got her, she is a real beauty.. No problems so far, although I can't seem to make it beep when you lock and unlock it!! lol I will try to post a picture if I can figure that out. They are in my gallery for you to see for now. More pictures later. I am sooooooo happy!!
