I too am getting anxious to see and drive my new MINI. You east-coasters are the envy of us folks out here waiting on Porgy - and since she is running in stealth mode, we can;t track her on Sailwx like the rest of you could.

I have been driving my family and coworkers crazy with my daily updates...completely unaware of this forum! None of them could really understand. They aren't mini owners LOL

I'm feeling like you, kenc..... My MA never returns a call. I know he offered me a discounted price, but he didn't say that included NO SERVICE

Owner's lounge says it's at the dealers, but I can't get my MA to tell me that it's there or when I can pick it up.... "I'll give you a call when it's ready" is NOT good enough for someone that has obsessively tracked it's every move for over six weeks!!!

 

I feel like I'm on Apollo 13 going around the dark side of the moon and hitting the radio blackout. It's just me wondering what is going on and if everything will work out. Wondering if I'll reestablish a connection with an update. Wondering if something will go wrong.

 

Yes, I definitely feel like that, too! My only solace is that I have a job and a lot of work to do and it distracts me occasionally from my obsessive worries.

Ken & Blousie - I do feel your pain about the wait. I plan to leave a message for my MA later this morning. Say leave a message as I rarely get him when I call but he is generally good about calling back. When I spoke to him last week he said he thought that it would be in today so I'll give him until lunch and then call.

I keep seeing all these mini's in my work parking garage and just can't wait until I can join the team. Plus I've even met with some of the NJ mini motors club - a real nice group of people who even accepted me w/out my mini. Can't wait to get motoring!

Have been offline ( ) for the past few days! Once I was able, first thing to check on was the status of all my "peeps". Neverfifty, Mrs Peel is beautiful. How can you not smile every day now when you walk outside? It just can't happen.

I think I can speak for the rest of us when we say that after spending so much time together, I think your "lady friend" needs to have a name..pseudo or otherwise. (Even "I" refer to her as "UAL's lady friend. )

Just checked the Port of Halifax website. The Faust is on their daily schedule. Scheduled to arrive on the 15th at 22:47 (10:47pm).

So sort of early when compared to the WWL date of 16 Sept?

 

Ken - don't worry, remember I'm in NJ (same state as the port) so I was sure to have mine show up at my dealers a little quicker. I'm sure that you'll be getting a call very soon.

FYI, I've asked to have my username changed. Going by my name in a forum isn't the best idea ever. So hopefully ZugginAround will be, well, around shortly.

 

I think part of the problem was the two-week factory closure that we weren't aware of until after it was over - everything seems to take so long. I can't imagine how I would have felt if Twiggy missed the boat on August 28th (Y2K knows what I'm talking about!). But, hearing all the good news from the rest of you as you receive the keys to your new MINI makes it a little easier.

And, while you all have been a source of comfort, I also have the people in the Nightfire Red Support Group to help me get through this car-birth thing.
