Week 34 (8/17-8/23/2009) Support Group
Whoo hoo!!!!!!!!!!
That moment was a long time coming. What a HUGE day for RayRatt, UAL Kingpin, MiniCrazy09, Norcaltinkerbell and JcM1ni. It's going to be long weekend of waiting while your MINIs are being cleaned and readied for their new homes. But the wait WILL be worth it.
If I could just nudge the "Statue of Liberty cam"....

Congrats to everyone whose boat docked!
blouise -- I am keeping a lookout for the cutest MINI in Rochester (for now till mine comes!)
So this morning I got an email from MINI USA/my dealer giving me the options to program my car (lights, locks, radio stations).
I thought that that was pretty cool that they give you the options right up front. I know I had read about people not having theirs programmed right (and I think I read that now you can do it on your own), but to have them email me the day before I pick it up and offer to program it the way I wanted made me quite excited!

It's pretty cool, the setting are stored on the key. So each key can have its own settings that the car will invoke when the key is pushed in.
Looks like the Wallenius Wilhelmsen track & trace is not going to show individual cars as they unload at Port Hueneme.
It is now after 9 am and nothing shows on the list. I see that all the cars that were unloaded yesterday at Brunswick GA have a delivery time of 3:30 pm. So, I doubt I will be able to confirm whether or not Twiggy was first in line to get off the boat. But, at least our babies will soon be on dry land again.

Sorry that you won't have it for THIS weekend...but what a way to look forward to the upcoming week!!
According to the Wallenius Wilhelmsen tracking site, Twiggy was discharged from the Porgy at 3:26 pm today (and delivered to the VDC at 3:30). And, it looks like all the cars unloaded have those same timestamps.
Hopefully, all five of us Week 34 west coast folks (JcMini, NorCalTinkerbell, MiniCrazy09, UAL_Kingpin, and me) will check the Wallenius Wilhelmsen tracking site and verify their MINI was unloaded at Port Hueneme today. Just enter your VIN in the "Cargo ID" box at the right of this page... don't forget this site will not work with Safari:

Please let UAL_Kingpin know your confirmed status on this Week 34 thread.
I tried calling the number listed for the VDC but got no answer - they probably have call screening and could tell it was just another MINI fanatic calling.
I just wanted to know if they were going to process Priority One cars tomorrow.

Do you know when the Porgy will leave for Tacoma? I found a webcam in Santa Barbara which shows the channel which ships use to go north. Right now it is foggy, but I did see an island in the distance when it was clear yesterday.
