Anyone on the Don Pasquale?
Anyone on the Don Pasquale?
I've been tracking my MINI and recently discovered it has finally been received and loaded onto the Don Pasquale due in NY on May 22nd.
Anybody else know if they're on the same ship?

Yes - My MCS in on that ship also I have been tracking it using this web site
http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/ it show it in the English Channel off of the Ile of Wright moving at 16 knots

I'm on the Don Pasquale, too! I have a chili red Cooper S on the way that was ordered back in April...
I've been tracking the DP since it was in Belgium, the day before it reached Southampton.
The 22nd won't get here soon enough
But then, there's still a good week or so after that for prep...
Funny that my dealer had no idea which ship she was on, and seemed a bit surprised that I could provide him with a landing date. lol

For anyone else who is on the DP and hasn't seen it, here's a picture...

And... here are some screen grabs I took trying to capture the DP as it left Southampton port and cruised by a webcam in Solent.... just missed it! Oh well..

I used the websites:

and

...which pointed me to the WW website - which will tell you the name of your ship.
I then found marinetraffic on my own, after sailwx wasn't turning up anything useful..

I don't know if it's like secret info.... what's your booking number? I was trying to track your boat on WW website but it wanted some numbers?? I don't even have a car on that boat it's just fun to tag along with you guys and practice for when mine finally gets a boat ride
found a weather tracking thing but wanted a ships handle (nick name) ?
bet you guys are buzzin on getting your mini's
I think they should put mine on a plane
then it wouldn't take so long to get over the pond
mine is a week 21, you guys are too lucky

Well, the booking # won't tell you much; it will just show you the VINs that are on the ship. It doesn't tell you what kind of minis they are.
We can't see anything right now, but if you watch the marinetraffic site (mentioned above) on Wednesday, you'll be able to follow the DP (handle "SFQG") into the Halifax, CA port, and then out the same day... it will then disappear off of our radar until friday, when it will cruise into the NYC port. We'll get off of the ship there. I believe it then goes to Georgia, down to the Panama Canal, and then to the west coast...

So far I haven't found any way to track it mid ocean, which kinda stinks.
As for figuring out which boat I was on, I got my Vin# from the miniusa.com owners lounge then just tried it out on the WW tracking site (http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/). Plug your Vin when you get it into the "Cargo ID" area and it may come up (depending on if it was shipped through WW or K-Line).
I put my Vin# in and bam my information came up one day, it told me what ship I was going to be on, when it leaves, when it's due, the whole nine. So I've been following it since.
And trust me, this has NOT been a short 4 weeks till now. It has been a loooooooong drawn out anxiously waiting 4 weeks. You can't halp but think about it everywhere you drive.
Everytime I get in my car to back out the drive way and it stalls, or everytime I need to retape my sideview mirror with duct tape because it fell off again because it's been raining in NY like I live in friggin London or Seattle, I can't help but think "DAMN YOU MINI, WHAT THE HELL IS TAKING SO LONG!!!!??".
Soon enough....we will all have our day.

BTW Atomic, if I remember correctly, I had to wait until the car had reached the port staging area in Southampton, after it disembarked the train, before my VIN started showing up on WW's tracking website... so you'll probably have a similar wait...

it's fun trying to watch you guys get your cars.... I am NEXT or close enough...
bummer
